A few years ago when we first began writing our journal we had to beg some of these big tomato companies for pictures to use , sometimes we were turned down. Now we just grow our own pictures, Tomatoes and Roses. DAD

And my mood is Happy and I AM SMILING. .

Only one more day to go and this old year will be history.

Where is the coffee and tea ? I am up and ready for a cup right now, but I don't think that it is ready yet, after all it is only 3 a.m. but I will go see what I can do.

IT feels real warm here again this morning, 49 right now and a sunny day is expected.

This will be my last blog for the year 2008 . In the morning it will be another new start for all of us. I want to thank all of you again for all that you have done for me in 2008, it has been wonderful, all the support and love that I have received from around this world. I feel so unworthy. I wish that I could have done more for you.

None of us have any idea of what's in the future for us, I know that time is running out for me, and I do want to trust the Lord for what I cannot see, knowing from experience that he will do right. It's up to me too be true to him.

I am going to depend upon the side panel to help me out today, please look over there, I think that you will find something there that you will enjoy.

I am not feeling the very best this morning, we were very busy yesterday, and I did not rest as usual last night, but maybe when I see the light of day and a few smiles from you that things will be better.

It is hard to believe that a new year is almost here. One more day after this day and will be here. I don't feel like that I have accomplished very much the last year, but the time is gone now never to return again. I hope that this thought will cause me to get busy and try to do more in living for others.

I hope that you all are feeling good this morning. I thank that I am going to be alright after I have my usual coffee, and I do have tea for everyone.

Yesterday was a very quite day, not very much going on. I think that most everyone has their thoughts on the new the year celebration that will soon be coming up. But after that, don't forget it will be back to our work place again.

Don't you just love these Monday mornings ? I am really glad to see it, and glad that God has given me another day of life, another clean sheet, another chance to do and be better than I have in the past. I sure don't want to mess it up.

It is only a couple of days until many of us will be making New Year resolutions. I don't usualy do that but I think that I will this year I am not going to make them public, but the only One that needs to know what they are will know.

. Good Morning:
I don't know when I have ever been so glad to see a Saturday. Our Friday was a busy day, but we did enjoy it so much . Jim and the whole White family ( except Beth.) were with us for the day. We had such an enjoyable time together. We had lunch at the Chop House and then came back here to Dad's house. We sure did have a good time, and we got to see Jade. She is attending college now in another state. It was so wonderful too to be with Kevin, Lesley, Kara, and Zachary, Alex, Mandy and Sylvia and of course Jim and Beverly. After dinner at the Chop House we came back here for more visiting. laughter, sharing of remembered family stories and memories. It was a WONDERFUL day being with our family. It would have been complete if only BETHANY could have been with us! You would remember that she is my precious grand-daughter who lives in N.Y.

Here is a litttle poem Mary shared with me about the writers of the New Testament. She said she learned it as a child but she does not know who wrote it. We want the proper credit to go to whoever did write it.

I believe that I can relax a little better now since all this is over, we did have a wonderful day yesterday as you can see from that picture above. The picure at the bottom is just a shot of the top of my desk where I do all my work. Please notice at the left side at my little dog, my friend Micah who lives in Birminghan sent that to me.

We are having a warm morning here in The Tennessee Valley this morning, at 3 A.M. the tempeature was 44.

This is all for right now, I may be back after I have had a little breakfast and another cup of coffee.

You know that I do not write a blog on Sunday morning. But if all is well I will be back on monday morning real early. I may update this tonight before I retire for the night, that is if anything happens that I would like to share with you. I don't need to tell you Mary and Dad's plans for tomorrow you already know.

Well I want to ask you, how are you feeling this Friday morning ? After some of the rush is over for a little while anyway. I'll tell you that I am feeling better, and I believe that I will be able to smile today.

The Tea and Coffee will be ready soon, come on in you are always welcome.

The weather was beautiful here on Christmas day. It was a lot warmer and a brighter sun all the day. It made me think of tomato growing time.

I do have some good news, Jim and the whole family will be coming to Knoxville today to spend the day with us. I am not sure about Beth, she would be back to her work in New York I would think. We will miss her. So you see we are going to get a Christmas get together after all. Smile.

Mary, Princess and I are doing very well. We don't have any plans at all for today, no family get together this year. We may find a good restaurant that is open and visit them. And then I might see if I can work in a nap. That's all I am going to say for now, if all goes well I will see you in the morning.

Two days of this week have gone, and things have not been too bad. One good thing is that we are having a short work week. Personaly I will feel a little releived when this week is over.

You can probably guess where I got these pictures. you know it has to be Kelly. Be sure and check out her Blog, The Chicken Chronicles. The link is the side panel. You can see what wonderful care Kelly gives to her beautiful chickens. These pictures were taken after or during a lot of rain. Kelly keeps putting out straw for them to walk on.

Mary and I don't have much planned today. We may go to Lowe's and pick up some fence posts that I am going to use to secure my bird feeders.

We are working on several personal blog links that we are placing in the right panel under the heading " BLOGS ." As you know I lost what I had with AOL and it is taking me a little while to get them together again . I hope that I have room for all who want to be there. Dad.

This tuesday morning find me feeling some better, I am in the process of getting our Tea and Coffee ready, Don't go away. I will do the pouring this morning.

It's still cold but a little warmer than monday, the tempeature a5 4:55 a.m. is 23, and I think that the rain has finnaly quit. I hope it has I want to see the sun again. I can't hardly think about tomatoes on these gloomy days.

Jade was supposed to have arrived in Kingsport last night but I haven't heard any thing yet, Jim will soon be telling us I am sure when we look at Tennessee Granddaddy

Yes it"s Monday morning. I think that I am doing alright, I will let you know after I get my eyes opened just a little more and I have a cup of that good coffee. I hope that you are in a good mood and able to smile.

Mary and I had a very nice Sunday, she prepared the lunch that I was telling you about and it was delicious, a beef roast surrounded by fresh vegetables, baked in the oven.

Some of our regular ones were not with us in our Sunday morning meeting, they had the privilege of going to Nashville to a special meeting. We have not talked to any of them this morning, but we know without a doubt that they had a wonderful time, but we did miss them.

Here at 3 A.M. the temperature is 17, now that is cold, we all need to be careful and stay warm wherever we are. And get your flu shot, I got mine last week/ Dad...

I am so glad to see you this Saturday morning. The weather looks a lot better, anyway not so wet.
....
As I was writing my bloug yesterday morning I had the experience of having some pleasant thoughts. It was around 5 A.M. when I finished and I knew that it was a few hours until daylight, so I decided to lie down here on this little cot that I have here in my office for my naps. I was soon asleep and I was facing the screen of my computer. And when I opened my eyes I saw the most beautiful sight, it was now daylight and the Cam was on and the wind was blowing briskly and our flag waving in the wind. At that early hour I felt so proud of our Flag, and that I had the privilege of showing it to the world, and what it means to all of us.

Then another thought came to me. In our hymn book we have a hymn that says, "Love is the kingdom's Banner, lift it against the sky. Over the fields of battle where the needy cry. Even though death assail us, Let us His banner wave, Hope of the dying nations, And our Master's praise. "

This made me glad to think that we have the privilege of waving this flag of Love all over this world. That is our purpose here, we hope that we can be of a little use to someone in the little time that we have left. We realize that the time is short....

What is going on here, an empty Coffee cup, well I'll will tell you what's going on. I have gone to turn that percolator on. It won't take but a jiffy, and then I will pour you a hot steaming cup. It's worth waiting for and it's the only thing that can bring that big smile. But I think that Tea does a pretty good job too.

We had a very busy day again yesterday but I think that we are going to make it alright, both Mary and Princess went to bed early last night and I soon heard a gentle pleasent snore comming from their room.

I am feeling good this morning and I am looking to be outside some today, check on that Cam and you might see me.

This is Dad's thought for today.

-The camel at the close of day, Kneels down upon the dusty plain, to have the burden lifted off, and rest again.

I am not sure of the author of this, I was going through some things of LaVerne's yesterday and I found this that she had saved many years ago. She loved poems and did write some herself, To any of you who did not know about LaVerne she was my sweet wife. She passed away May 11, 1974. DAD-

Wednesday was a wet day, it was raining when I got up and still raining when I went to bed. And it may still be raining this Thursday A. M. I am begining to want to see the sun.

But the weather is something that we cannot change to suits us, we must take what God sends us and not complain.

Wednesday morning is here and all is well. I hope that all is well with you. We will have some Starbucks Coffee ready very soon, and also plenty of Tea, and then I know that you will smile.

I have been telling you about our side panels that we are working on. Well Mary and I have been working on them today, look over to the right and you can see them . They will be easier than me having to show them in the body of the blog. And only pull up what you want to see.

Tuesday started out to be sunny, but I got fooled, it rained of and on the most of the day, I will let you know what's out there as soon as I can see. It's dark here at 3 a.m. ( I just checked the weather report at 5 a.m. the temperature is 47 and showers predicted for today. ) DAD.

Yes I am out of bed and feeling fairly good. Coffee is on my mind right now, so you stay right there a while and I will get it started.

The weather was very nice yesterday, plent of sun and very warm, and I think that the prediction to be about the same today. It is starting out with a tempeature of 41, now that seems good to me.

The Starbucks Coffee is ready and i am already enjoing one cup, my excuse for going ahead is that I want to check it out before i serve you a cup.ha ha you don't beleive that do you,

Yesterday was a quite day with me, I know that many of you are so busy with shopping and plaanning that you don't have time for much more. So I am going to make this short today, what I leave out you may find part of it on the side pannel. I am working on the side panels today, I hope to have everything by evening. DAD

It's not too early for me to say Good Morning is it ? It is Monday morning and I was almost afraid to say anything. But don't you worry, just jump out of bed with a great big smile, and come get a cup of this Starbucks, or if you want Tea I have plenty ready. Then I think that you will be read to go.

I am feeling good this morning. We had a wonderful day yesterday. I told you about Barrie and Audry our friends from Canada going to be with us in our Sunday morning meeting, well they were and after the meeting we had lunch at the Chop House Restaurant. Then we spent the afternoon here at Dad's house visiting

They are the ones who make the maple syrup. They will be starting up again in March, that is when the sap begins comming up. They told me that they have over 2000 trees but only use about 1000 of them right now. They live in Iron Bridge, Ontario. I plan to write a story about them when they get started, and I will have pictures of the operation.

..We got the report of Jim's procedure yesterday evening,but was too late to put it in yesterday's Journal. The doctor said that one artery was 95% blocked, so they put in a stent. The other stents he had put in several years ago were still OK.


Thanks to all of you for your interest and concern.

I got to talk to Jim last night. He will be coming home sometime today. I did not ask him about a blog for today, but I hardly think that he will have one. I think that I will go to his last blog that he made before he went to the hospital and give him a welcome home. Dad.

The two day rain that we have had here in the Tennessee Valley has ended, I did not get the amount of rain that fell, but I am sure that it would have been near 4 inches. It will be good to see the sun again. It is cool here this morning 26 at 3 a.m.

Now tell me how you are doing, before you answer remember that this is Saturday. Many of you do not have to work, so pull that cover up over your head an rest just as long as you can. The Tea and Coffee is ready and we will make fresh pots as we need it today.

If we do have to work let's go get'em. We can do it and do it with a Smile and a song in our heart. Let others know today that you are happy.

I want to give a welcome to Lynne and her grandmother this morning, Lynne tells me that she shares my blog with her each morning, and that her grandmother is 97 years old. I hope that you both have a pleasant and quiet weekend, and that I will see you again Monday morning. DAD...

LORD PROP US UP...

Every time I am asked to pray, I think of the old fellow who always prayed, 'Lord, prop us up on our leanin' side.' After hearing him pray that prayer many times, someone asked him why he prayed that prayer so fervently.He answered, 'Well sir, you see, it's like this... I got an old barn out back. It's been there a long time; it's withstood a lot of weather; it's gone through a lot of storms, and it's stood for many years.It's still standing. But one day I noticed it was leaning to one side a bit.So I went and got some pine poles and propped it up on its leaning side so it wouldn't fall.Then I got to thinking about that and how much I was like that old barn. I've been around a long time (95+ years ) .I've withstood a lot of life's storms. I've withstood a lot of bad weather in life, I've withstood a lot of hard times, and I'm still standing too. But I find myself leaning to one side from time to time, so I like to ask the Lord to prop me up on my leaning side, 'cause I figure a lot of us get to leaning at times. Sometimes we get to leaning toward anger, leaning toward bitterness, leaning toward hatred, leaning toward a lot of things that we shouldn't . So we need to pray, 'Lord, prop us up on our leaning side, so we will stand straight and tall again, to glorify the Lord. .... ......

This is old Dad talking. I have a question for Google. I hope that some of the blog team will read this and give me an answer. Several week ago I lost my blog, we ask for help in getting it back so far none has come and we are having a hard time in getting any kind of answer. No communication. Please help me if you can. I am enjoying the change to Google very much, it is much easier to use and more to use than we had before. DAD.

Well it's high time for me to stop bothering you, this is too long. You know that I will not see you until Monday unless something interesting comes up.

Mary and I have just about the same plans for Sunday as we always do, meeting on Sunday morning and then a quiet evening at home. We do have our Canadian Friends with us for the meeting, and we might have lunch with them at the Chop House.

I hope that all is well with you this Friday morning. Things are not very good with us. Jim is sick and in the hospital at Kingsport. Thursday morning he felt some tightness in his chest and felt that it would be best to get to the doctor which he did. The doctor admitted him to the hospital and told him that he had a heart attack, we don't know very much right now but they have plans to do something today. We will let you know how it goes. Jim wanted me to tell you that there will not be any Tennessee Granddaddy blog on Friday.

I will be posting this morning and all day letting you know how things are going with Jim...

Now I hardly know what to talk about, about all I think about this early in the morning is a cup of good hot strong coffee with half and half cream. And I think that a lot of you are just like me. But don't you who love your tea worry it is also ready.
