Clap-Clap. this is saturday morning and you can sleep late if you want to. I am up at 3; A. M, and feeling good.I am going to make some coffee and tea and I will be here all day, so you do not have to rush, just come on in and have a cup with me. But be real sure that you are smiling, I just can't stand to see a frown this early in the morning.

Well this is another one of our favorite day's of the week, we know that it won't be long now untill we might have a little time of rest.

The tempeature here at Dad's tomato garden is starting off at 32 and a promise of more sunshine. Yesterday was one beautiful day, no rain and lots of sunshine and a brisk wind to keep our flag looking very beautiful. One of my frienrs who lives in Californa sent me an email saying that at moment she was looking at my cam and enjoying what she saw. We don't have very much planned for today, one thing that we would like to do is visit a coffee company that has come to town. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc.They are based in Waterbury VT. I am sure that some of our readers know about this Co. As you know I am always interested in good coffee, and we might just find what we are looking for at Green Mountain It does sound interesting, I will let you know what we find out. Dad.

I had a wonderful privilege a few years ago in the Spring watching two blue birds raise four beautiful little babies. I have a blue bird box next to my family room window. I watched them as they chose which box to use and build their nest. Then I checked back each day for the eggs to appear. Soon four pretty blue bird eggs were there. Then I waited for them to hatch. It was a pleasure to watch the two birds feed their babies from sun-up to sun-down every day, protecting them from all evil. Then they flew away into the trees near my garden. What a miracle...

Heinz Declares: Out With the Pickle, In With the Tomato

After 110 years, H.J. Heinz Co. is finally giving the tomato its rightful place on their ketchup bottles, bumping off the pickle logo.
Starting in mid-January, you may notice new ketchup labels in stores.
The tomato will be quite noticeable, as they are making it much larger than the pickle that used to be there.
It will take about 3-5 months for the new bottles to completely replace old stock.
“We really felt that the tomato is the hero of ketchup, and it was the right time to make the switch on our label,” Geoffroy said, as reported in BusinessWeek.

Once upon a time, people thought tomatoes were poisonous.
In fact, in America, we didn’t even start eating them tomatoes until the late 1700s, making the tomato a relatively new addition to our dinner tables.
But just because we love them doesn’t mean our furry friends should be eating them as well.
Cats, in particular, can have extremely adverse reactions to tomato ingestion, and so, please keep tomatoes away from your kitties!

The weather is very nice, here at 3 A.M. the temperature is 45, and we are expecting some sun today.

Just a little about the picture up above of the egg carton. At one time in my life my brother Howard and I were in the poultry and egg business, we began this business in 1940 and were in it for several years until we sold out to a large feed company. We did enjoy the business, of course there were lots of problems but we always solved them. Howard and I had no problems in getting along with one another. ( He has since passed away. )

The name of our company was White Brothers Poultry & Egg Co. and the carton of eggs pictured were our most popular item. I think that we were among the first here in East Tennessee to package eggs in cartons, before that they were sold loose, the clerk would get you a dozen eggs and put them in a paper bag. Some of you may remember some of this., but you don't have to admit if you don't want too. DAD.

I hope that you are going to be feeling good this Thursday morning. I am aware that it is too early to even ask, it is only 3 A.M. so sleep on a little while, I sure don't want to disturb you.. I will call you a little later, and by that time I will have plenty of Tea and Coffee waiting on you.Try to come in smiling and something to tell me that will make me smile.

When I was ready for my bed last night the tempeature was 28, and we had a clear sky. And I was awake at 3.A.M. this morning and it was 22, And it looks like a sunny Thursday with tempeature a little better. At least better than the 15 we had yesterday morning.

We raised some cabbage in our garden a few seasons ago.

When I went to my bed last night about 10 P. M. the tempeature was 23, and when I came in to my office this morning it is 17. I think that we are getting use to this weather and it don't seem so bad. But I am still dreamimg about Tomato season. SMILE...
.

Here is my thought for today, it is not a new one, it is part of a poem that I used a few days ago and I keep thinking about it.

Another day has arrived and I am glad, as I get older every new day seems more precious to me. ( I soon will reach 96 if God has mercy on me. )

This tuesday is another cold morning, yesterday was cold and a lite snow fell all day. Some of you saw it on our outside Cam. itwas a beautiful sight.

This morning the tempeature is 22 at 3 A.M. and it says that the high will only be 32. That must be a mistake, seems a little low.

The picture at the top was sent to me by my good friend Kelly, you all know her she writes a very interesting blog, The Chicken Chronicles... it is always very interesting. How are you feeling on this new Monday morning ? I believe that I am going to make it, after I have some of that good coffee. The tea is also ready.

The temperature was much better here on Sunday. the high was 47 here at Dad's tomato garden . That is much better than an 8.

At 3 a.m. this Monday morning the temperature is 35, but look at this it is saying that it will be 15 tonight. Hey, I am in a hurry for tomato season to arrive here in East Tennessee. I know that some of you are already growing and possibly eating tomatoes,

Why don,t you let me know what you are doing, and a picture would be nice, and that does mean from in any part of this world. DAD

My thought for this Monday 1/19/09.

I would like to tell you the reason for the thought above that has meant so much to me. On the road to where Mary and I go to one of our Wednesday night's bible study there is this sign on a small building by the side of the road, it says. Past, Present and Future. This is what this woman is wanting to tell people.
We are so glad that we do not have to worry about tomorrow that is in God's hand, we just need to keep true today and let God plan for us. DAD
