FRIDAYS ENTRY # TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY SIX

We are living in a new year this Saturday and Sunday morning, 2011 has arrived, I am going to try to do better this year than I did in the past one, I will need help from above.

Now about today, I do not write a journal on Saturday or Sunday. we use the one below for those two days, and then I will see you early Monday with a fresh new journal. The one that we are asking you to use is good, some Videos and lots of information about producing Smiles and Tomatoes.

This is the last day of 2010, tomorrow we will be living in 2011, what are your thoughts about the year ? I must say that the years are passing, and some of us are beginning to show the effect that time is having on us. When I am with my friends I see a lot of grey hair and wrinkles showing up, but I still Love every one of them, one of our hymns reads like this --

It is hard to realize that a new year is almost here, 2011. I wonder what it will be like. We are so glad that God in his mercy hides the future from our eyes. What miserable creatures we would be if we knew today what was going to happen to us tomorrow, now we leave that in God's hand. And we know that he will do what is good and best for us. It is so good to have a Father that plans the best for us.

.Good Morning.

How are you doing this morning, I hope that all is well in your part of this wide world, I thought that I was in good shape, but now I wonder. When I am going to have a Video to show I always get it in here the night before, that is what I done last night, but when I began to work this morning it was gone. So I will have to make anothher one this morning, later in the morning. As it is said " If I did not have bad luck, I would not have any luck at all" DAD.

THE WINTER OF OUR LIVES.
..
It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went.
I know that I lived them all...
And I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams... But, here it is..the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise... How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my youth go? I remember well...seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like... But, here it is...some of my friends are retired and getting gray...they move slower and I see an older person now. Some are in better and some worse shape than me... but, I see the great change... Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant... but, like me, age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be....or close to it anyhow. Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore...it's mandatory! Cause if I don't on my own free will..I just fall asleep where I sit! And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!! But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last...this I know, that when it's over...its over....Yes , I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done ,,,,,things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done. It's all in a lifetime....So, if you're not in your winter yet...let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly! Don't put things off too long!!Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life...so, live for good today and
say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember...
and hope that they
appreciate and love you
for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past!!'Life is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after.

I started this Journal on August 28, 2003 for the main purpose of helping others produce a good home grown tomato. That is still my desire. And I have added another thing producing Smiles. Smiles are about as important to me as tomatoes I will be glad for any comments or criticism. I appreciate all of my readers who have stayed with me through these years. Dad.

Really 21 degree tempeature is not much of a time to talk about tomato gardening, but we better start now because spring will be here before we are ready for it, one good thing about Smiles you can produce them in zero weather, never gets to cold for them. Dad.

I need to ask how are you this morning ? I know that it is a good morning to stay in that warm bed, 21 degrees here at the tomato garden. We better crawl out and get on the job, we need the money.

Before we go we will have a cup of that Sumatra x bold coffee, and our usual peep at our friends Sara, Misty and Oreo, I can just see them in Jeff and Sara's warm house looking out from under a warm blanket, lucky Shelties.Sara's Dog Training blog is going to tell what is going on at their house this morning. Also for those who know people like us.When I bought my Blackberry I thought about the 30-year business I ran with 1800 employees, all without a cell phone that plays music, takes videos, pictures and communicates with Facebook and Twitter.

.

I signed up under duress for Twitter and Facebook, so my seven kids, their spouses, 13 grandkids and 2 great grand kids could communicate with me in the modern way..

.

I figured I could handle something as simple as Twitter with only 140 characters of space.That was before one of my grandkids hooked me up for Tweeter, Tweetree, Twhirl, Twitterfon, Tweetie and Twittererific Tweetdeck, Twitpix and something that sends every message to my cell phone and ev ery other program within the texting world.

.My phone was beeping every three minutes with the details of everything that is happening all over the world and the movements of the entire next generation. I am not ready to live like this. I keep my cell phone in the garage in my golf bag.

.

The kids bought me a GPS for my last birthday because they say I get lost every now and then going over to the grocery store or library. I keep that in a box under my tool bench with the Blue tooth [it's red] phone I am supposed to use when I drive. I wore it once and was standing in line at Barnes and Noble talking to my wife and everyone in the nearest 50 yards was glaring at me. I had to take my hearing aid out to use it, and I got a little loud.

.I mean the GPS looked pretty smart on my dash board, but the lady inside that gadget was the most annoying, rudest person I had run into in a long time. Every 10 minutes, she would sarcastically say, "Re-calc-u-lating." You would think that she could be nicer. It was like she could barely tolerate me. She would let go with a deep sigh and then tell me to make a U-turn at the next light. Then if I made a right turn instead. Well, it was not a good relationship.When I get really lost now, I call my wife and tell her the name of the cross streets and while she is starting to develop the same tone as Gypsy, the GPS lady, at least she loves me.

.

To be perfectly frank, I am still trying to learn how to use the cordless phones in our house. We have had them for 4 years, but I still haven't figured out how I can lose three phones all at once and have run around digging under chair cushions and checking bathrooms and the dirty laundry baskets when the phone rings.The world is just getting too complex for me.

They even mess me up every time I go to the grocery store. You would think they could settle on something themselves but this sudden "Paper or Plastic?" every time I check out just knocks me for a loop. I bought some of those cloth reusable bags to avoid being ask that question so much.

O' how I miss the good old days when I was younger and did not have all these things to bother me, I enjoyed life so much better. DAD.

FRIDAY'S ENTRY # TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED & EIGHTY-ONE

Good Morning.
. ( This is Sunday morning, and the roads are very slick and dangerou. So we will have to cancell our meeting this morning, we are so sorry but we think it best. DAD.)

The first thing that I want to do is to wish all my friends a merry xmas, and to also THANK so many of you that done so much for old Dad. I don't feel worthy of any of it but it is good to know that I do have a few friends left, and I do love every one of you.

Now this, you all well know that I do not write a journal on saturday or sundays, those are my two rest days, so I must ask you to use the one beloe # 2181 for today and tomorrow, and then I hope to see you bright and early again on monday morning. Jim and Beverly did come down yesterday afternoon, and we did have a wonderful time. This was his first trip to see us since his knee surgery. I was really surprised in the progress that he has made. As always he wanted to take us to Ruby Tuesday's for lunch. I am proud of him. He is a good son, but don't tell him that I said that , he might get as they say " get the big head" DAD.

Good Morning .

I am going to ask about you first this thursday morning, I am in a pretty good humor this morning and I don't thing that I am going to give anyone any trouble today. We had a good bible study last night, studing James chapter 1. We also talked to Jim last night and found out that He and Beverly are commimg to see us this afternoon, this will be his first trip down here since his knee surgery, I am going to interview him on a video if he will let me. Dad

WEDNESDAYS ENTRY # TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY NINE

Good Morning. .

How are you feeling on this Wednesday morning ? I hope that all is well with you, I will let you know about old Dad after I have had my Sumatra-x bold coffee, I can't think very well until I have had that. Tonight is our bible study night, we are studying James the 1st chapter. We value our bible studies and do our best to always be there, it helps us to keep on going until Sunday.

Well, trick training time, has turned into workout time. Misty has been getting stronger, and as a result, so has Oreo. Once the physio ball is out, he demands equal time.Ball work is how we start each morning, and Misty has made tremendous gains in strength. Unfortunately, she still lacks confidence on top of the ball, so most of our work is done with her two front paws up on the ball. I do put her on the ball each session, with hopes she will be able to do "real" ball work soon.The instructional video does say that some dogs take longer to get used to the ball, and I guess Misty is one of those dogs.Ergo, no trick this week, but if you want to see Misty doing some of her ball work, watch this video. It's really boring, and I recorded it more for me. I wish I had a "before" video from our first session, because, boy, is there a huge difference in her legs.This morning, Misty did stand on top of the ball for a few seconds all by herself! Again, a big change from how she looks at the end of this video, which I shot on Saturday.http://vimeo.com/18030396

MONDAYS ENTRY @ TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY SEVEN

Good Morning .

Well Monday has finally arrived, it always seems so long, from Friday my last entry until my entry this Monday morning. We did have a wonderful week end. We had ,visitors in our meeting 5 from Ontario Canada and 2 from Indiana. I enjoyed the meeting so much, now I am going to do my best to be a better man, I do appreciate the clean sheet that I feel God has given me.

I am begining to need a cup of that Sumatra x bold coffee, but above the coffee I am more interested in Sara, Misty and Oreo this morning, I am going to Sara's Dog Training blog and check on them. As you would know Misty has been sick and I am hoping to find her feeling better, Misty is a sweetie and every ons loves her, including old Dad.

FRIDAYS ENTRY # TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY SIX

Good Morning, This is Dad here on Saturday morning to remind you that I do not write a journal on Saturday or Sundays, those are my two rest days, so this journal below is the one that we will be useing for today and Sunday, be sure and look it over, there are lots there to enjoy, poems by Egdar Guest as well as a lot about producing Smiles and Tomatoes.

I hope that you are feeling good this Friday morning, you will not see me again until Monday, I only write journals 5 days a week now. Saturday and Sunday are rest days for me, and I need them so much. I have 2 good poems by our friend Edgar Guest right below that I think you will like .

The Finer Thought

How fine it is at night to say:
I have not wronged a soul to-day.
I have not by a word or deed,

I do not feel that I should have used this poem up above by Edgar Guest because it certainly is not me that he is speaking about, but then I thought why can't I use this poem as my desire, wanting to be more like what he is saying. DAD.

I am beginning to need a cup of Sumatra x bold coffee and since I won't be back until Monday I need to go see Sara, Misty and Oreo, it's a long time until Monday, I am clicking on Sara's Dog Training blog, and Sara will bring me up to date.
I have enjoyed the videos that Sara has made, I hope that she will make us more, It helps us to understand more of what is going on, what about it Sara. DAD.
