This weather Prediction looks so good that I am going to show it to you first.

Now that is the kind of weather that I like, and it is the kind that we had on Wednesday as we did get a new roof on our home and also the patio down at the tomato garden. The workmen did a wonderful job, arriving at 8 A M. and leaving  around 6 P.M. and leaving behind a good job, no mess every thing nice and clean. That is the kind of workers that I like, but I have to say it is not always true.  DAD.

I am hoping to see a smile on your face this morning and to her you say that you feeling good and in a happy mood and I will be pleased, because that is the way that Dad is feeling. I think that we could get something done today but I am not planning very much, a visit to the paint store to get paint for a ramp that we made for a man that comes to our. Sunday morning meeting. And the rest of the day I plan on sitting on that new patio meditating on all the good things that God has sent my way in the last almost 98 years. I feel that I do need to relax today. DAD.

The weather report is important to us this morning, We have been trying for several days to get our roof restored from the hail storm damage, it looks to me right now that is still going to be another day before the we can do anything.

I would like to know how all of my world wide friends are feeling this morning. I am in a Happy mood again this Morning and I hope that I can do a little good somewhere maybe make someone smile. That is my purpose in life is to produce Tomatoes, Roses's and Smiles. I want to a good job at that. Dad

It's hard to believe the bobcat made it to the top of this cactus. Did the stickers from the cactus hurt or not?  If they did, it's better than being eaten. Smart cat, he took the tallest one,too.

DAD'S MONDAY ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED TWELVE

Zachary White is my great grand Son and Mary's nephew. We are so proud of him and we love him so much.

Jim wrote:

"We went fishing this morning for a few hours on South Holston Lake.
In total we had 6 lake trout (the limit) and 1 rainbow trout. The
stringer weighed 25 pounds... Zachary caught a whopper... A giant lake
trout weighing 7 3/4 pounds!"

This is my morning, good Monday Morning, the day that I am so glad to see come around. I am always getting restless  from being so quiet over the weekend, I just do love the outside , I love nature in all its  glory, God has created so many beautiful things for us to enjoy, don't miss them take time to stop and "Smell the Roses"

Good Morning.

I ask this question every morning and the answer is about the same every morning, " I will be fine after I have a cup of good hot strong coffee " and that is the way it is with me, I have considered trying some hot tea.

I am hearing some thunder in the distance here at 4;37 A.M. this morning, it looks like more rain.

DAD'S TUESDAY ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHT

Good Morning,

I'm writing my Journal a bit later than usual. I had some more computer hang ups this morning, but I called AOL "help"  and the AOL technician was very helpful.

We had a great time yesterday. One of Mary's cousins and her husband are moving to Knoxville from Memphis.  They drove up from Memphis  on Monday. They had some business to take care of that day, so they came over in the afternoon. and they took us to the "Chop House" for supper. We had a great meal and visit.

For breakfast we had bacon and scrambled eggs, fresh strawberries etc. And of course, Starbucks coffee.

Now they are headed back to Memphis to finish up there .

I need to go down to my tomato garden to tie up some loose ends. So if you'll wait for me,  I will be right back.    Dad

As you know this is my morning, glad to be out of that bed and do a little work outside early this morning. And I did want you to know that I am still alive and in the land of the living, early last night we had a prediction of a heavy dangerous storm headed our way but it did not arrive, I id hear some heavy thunder, and I do hear some at the moment 4:34 a.m. we have a lot of rain for the last few days and the Tomatoes are beginning to call for more sunshine.

We are expecting to receive shingles for our house today, it was damaged in the hail storm that hit us a few weeks ago, the same storm that destroyed most tomato crop.

" Time is so precious-do not waste it ''

Good morning to my friends all around this wide world. Another Saturday has slipped in upon us, and as i say above we sure don't want to waste any of it. I like this day because I get to rest tomorrow as I don't write a Journal on Sunday.

We try to use that day for something more important than Journals, Journals will pass away, but what God can give us is forever. I will be back here at Dad's Tomato Garden Journal Monday if all is well. Dad.

Today's weather June 16th 2011.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms. A few storms may be severe. High 87F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

In this part of the country there has been a lot of hay baling going on. We enjoy seeing the bales of hay in the fields as they make a very pretty scene. And we know they will help feed the livestock when winter rolls around. It reminds us we need to be prepared for the future.

In the right panel above are the picture of the two books by Vic Weals that are on sale. I have both of those and I am enjoying looking them over as I drink my x bold coffee. Vick sure knows how to write about these Smoky Mountains and the people that lived there that he loved so much, it makes you feel that you are right there with him.

My small patch of tomatoes are looking good, plenty of blooms and  few little green tomatoes looking out at me. I am running at least 30 days late because of the hail storm that hit us hard. But I am going to hang in there and have all the patience that I can. I also produce Smiles and you know that the hail did not bother them, the are still going around this world, you must help me keep it going.

Fishing
My son, Jim, had a good day on the lake yesterday. He and his buddies fished on South Holston Lake for Lake Trout. They had their limit of six fish before lunch. The largest was a little over 5 lbs. Jim said the stringer weighed over 21 pounds. Here’s Jim with the catch. He said they caught the fish at depths up to 70 feet deep!

Good Morning.

Did you ever see a Tomato smile ? Well I did Wednesday evening. We had wonderful and badly needed rain. It was first predicted to be a sevier storm with large hail but when it reached Dads Tomato Garden it was a gentle rain with some wind, it rained for abou three hours, now you can see why my Tomatoes Smiled.

When Oreo and I started to learn agility, I taught him mostly through play with a toy.He still loves to play agility for toys at home. I wanted Chewy to learn the same way. Agility should be a game right? Here is me attempting to get Chewy to chase his ball through a tunnel. I think he thought the tunnel was slowing him down,so he went around it a few times instead. He also sunk his razor teeth into my hand, instead of the ball. Ouch! click below and enjoy. Dad.

Her eyes are beautiful. Most babies measuring 5 ft. would be considered big, but newborn giraffe, Margaret, at Chester Zoo, U.K., is seen as unusually small for her species. She is one of the smallest giraffes ever born at Chester Zoo but pint-sized Margaret will soon be an animal to look up to.

Little Margaret, who is the first female Rothschild giraffe born at the zoo, is being hand-reared by her dedicated keepers.

The first calf for six-year-old mum Fay, Margaret, who was born two weeks early, tipped the scales at just 34 kilos (75 lbs.) and is a mere 5 ft. tall.

Tim Rowland's, team leader of the Giraffes section, said: 'Margaret is one of the smallest giraffe calves we have ever seen.

Fay isn't the largest of giraffes and Margaret was also early which might go some way to explaining her size.

'Margaret was having difficulty suckling so our keeper team are now hand-rearing her.
