WEDNESDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUUAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY ONE .DAD'S

" Full of pep and ready to go, Are you ?




Good Morning.




I am coming to you full of Vim, Vigor and Vitality, do you want to join me ? We are going to have so much fun this week. You can see that I did sleep in a little this morning. As I write it is 6:25 a.am. I usually have about 4 hours of writing done by this time, Now it is going to be a little more relaxed life for me and I hope that you will be there with me.



The above caused me to think of something that happened in my young days, that was a long time ago. In one of my first jobs I worked a feed store and we sold a chicken feed called " Full of Pep " and there was a picture of two roosters fighting on the front of the bag, some of you may remember that feed, it was a good and popular feed. I would like to hear if you have.



I am not going to say more right now, just wanted you to know that I am here and in a happy mood, tonight is our Bible study night, our study is Colossians chapters 1=2 and 3.



I will be outside for a little while than back to the house to sit with Prince, I am not gone for good, I am as close as my phone 616-577-8495

DADS SPECIAL TUESDAY'S ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY.

Good Morning,

Hello Every One, Every Where

I feel that I want to share with you a word or two about a medical procedure that I am to have this morning. You might remember that I've been having a lot of trouble with circulation in my feet. Well, the doctor wants me to have an angiogram. By doing this they can see if they might need to put a stent in my leg to open up the blood flow to my feet. This would help my foot to heal where I have an "ulcer."  The procedure is to be around 10 a.m. today.  My doctor is Dr. Akers and his assistant, Bobbi.They have done so much for me and I trust them fully.

I don't know how long this will take or when we will be back home, I think maybe in the late afternoon ,we will give you a report on how it went. I don't want to ever keep anything from you my faithful readers

DADS MONDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY NINE

Good Morning

You know that I like Monday morning the best of any morning in the week. Do you think that I am a strange man, that is alright a lot of others do think that, but I am glad that they still love me, and read all this foolish things that I try to write

One of the reasons that I like Mondays is that I get restless sitting around on Saturday and Sunday and it feels so good to be back in the harness again Dad.

Good Morning.

I started writing this short Sunday morning journal a few weeks ago and so many of you have mentioned that you enjoy it I am going to continue if for a while, It has always been my policy no Sunday writing.

Just want you to know that all is well here, I am feeling good and Mary and I are going to be in our Sunday morning meeting where we know that we can get help if we listen and then let it sink down into our hearts, and the important part do it.

The week is past and I am glad, so much has happened this past week that has not been pleasant, such as tornados and earthquakes, in all of my almost 98 years I have not experienced either one.So it will be hard for me know just what you have been through, but I do care.

    Saturday is a day that Mary and I like, it makes us think of a little time of rest relaxing and being prepared for the week ahead. I was reading the 51st psalm this morning and I enjoy ed what David said, Restore, Renew and Create in me. That is what our Sunday mornings seem to do for me, it would be hard to keep on going with out help from above. Dad.

    DAD'S FRIDAY'S ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY SEVEN

    Good Morning

    Today

    Scattered thunderstorms possible. A few storms may be severe. High 33C. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

    Variable clouds with scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High 93F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

    I always like to get the weather report early in he morning then I can plan my day better. This above east Tennessee around Dad's Tomato Garden.

    Speaking of plans I have made a few in the last few days that did not turn out as well as I expected, and I imagined it was best for me that they did not. We sang a hymn in our Wednesday nights bible study that reads like this. " I will leave it all to Jesus, for I know that he understands"

    That is one lesson that Dad needs to learn, we would have much more peace, rest and happiness in our lives if we would do that. DAD.

    We do worry about all you our friends who have been having so many things to go through, It makes us sad and we want you all to know that, we hope that it will soon be over and we all can return to a normal life, we are glad that God above knows and is planing all that is good and best for us all.     Mary and Prince are going to sleep a little longer this morning and Mary really deserves it. She spent most of the day yesterday working on our printer and she did get it to working perfectly, She is so much help to me. Dad.

    This is going to be all for today, I did not produce even one smile, I will try to be better prepared in the morning

    DADS WEDNESDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE

    Good Morning

    I hope that you are feeling good today.Because this is the day that the Lord has made and we should rejoice and be glad in it. As we often say we cannot see the future but we can know the one that does, and we are glad that is true, what a peace and comfort that brings into our lives. So many things happened even yesterday that I do not understand, but I hope that I can just accept what comes my way with a thankful heart. Dad.

    Another beautiful day for me to do a little cleaning up outside, I do have a little more to do on the Wildlife Habitat but I am slowly getting there, the birds seem pleased with it, but the squirrels are the ones that are happy since I have gave them the freedom to eat all they need. DAD

    DADS SATURDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY ONE

    Good Morning to you on this Saturday morning, a favorite morning for all of us. We think of a little rest and relaxing  for the next two days. I am not so sure about us. We have been invited by Jim to a  cabin that he has on Douglas lake for lunch.

    My niece and here husband are going to let us ride with them, which we do appreciate. We will return in the early afternoon to get everything ready for our Sunday morning meeting.

    BYE BYE TOMATOES, yes the season is over, when you view Camera  # 2 today you will see a mostly vacant spot, but just give me a few more working days the first of the week and I hope to be able to show you a Wildlife Habitat that the birds and every other wild creature that comes our way will SMILE.

    friends who understand me better than myself,

    who support me through good days and bad days.

    They are like colorful anti-depressants that I take on different days.

    Real Age doctors tell us that friends are good for our health.

    DADS FRIDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SIXTY

    Good Morning

    I am sure that you have noticed that the tomato plants on Camera # 2 are gone, yes the tomato season is over, but it will be back soon, until then this spot will be an improved Wildlife Hibatat for the fall and winter months

    It will take us a few days to get it set up and working properly. Watch for it. DAD

    Our bible  study for night, we are studying Nehemiah  chapters 9 & 10. We know that we will get help from the 2 chapters. Dad.

    Good Morning.

    I hope that all my world friends are doing as good as I am this morning, we do not know what the future hold for us, but it is a comforting thought God up above does and he cares.

    Joan is getting us off on something that might produce a smile, and we need one right now, look below and smile. DAD

    My forgetter's getting better,
    But my remembered is broke
    To you that may seem funny
    But, to me, that is no joke
    For when I'm 'here' I'm wondering
    If I really should be 'there'
    And, when I try to think it through,

    You may have noticed the mess on Camera # 2, what that is we are removing the old tomato plants and making this into a Wildlife Habitat for the winter months

    DADS TUESDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED ONE FIFTY SEVEN

    " The way of the cross leads home "

    Good Morning.

    I hope that wherever you are this morning that you are feeling good. We had a busy day yesterday and I had a wonderful sleep last night so I am up and ready to face it with help from God.

    I mentioned yesterday that I needed glasses, we did go to East Town and We bought two pair for me. One I call my traveling  glasses and one my work glasses. I am using my work pair at the moment and what a difference it makes, how did I ever make it without them, I can work so much better. DAD

    Today

    Sunshine. High 30C. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph.

    Sunny skies. High 87F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph.

    How could you ask for more, this report if for East Tennessee, I hope that yours is as good. Dad

    DAD'S MONDAY ENTRY THREE THOUSAND FIFTY-SIX

    Good Morning,

    My niece Karen and her husband Pat have recently moved to Knoxville , and we are so happy about that!  Karen is an artist and the painting above is one of her's. She has many others and I wish you could see them all. Karen has many other talents. She sews, decorates, and is a wonderful cook.

    Pat is a master wood carver. Above is a project he is working on now.

    He is also a wood-worker and has created a beautiful "Butcher's  Block" for their  kitchen.

    Both Karen & Pat are very creative and talented. We will tell you more about them later.

    They were so nice to us on Saturday morning, they came to our home picked Mary and I up and took us to their home for a wonderful visit and  extra special lunch and then brought us home, now what do you think about service like that. DAD

    Karen and Pat, we love you!

    The squirrels and I have made peace, I have decided that they can have all the feed that they want, after all they are a part of Gods creation and they do need food, so tell all your buddies, come eat to your fill and I promise that I will not run you away. DAD

    DADS SATURDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FIFTY FIVE

    "Spend the week end with God and helping others Dad "


    Good Morning.


    This day is of course one of the best days of the week for old Dad. No more writing until Monday morning, and looking to have two days in which to be renewed and refreshes for the coming week, and we are so glad that we have our Sunday Mornings meetings to do that for us, I am so thankful to my Dad and Mother for taking me to these meeting when I was only five or six years old, I ask myself sometimes where would I be today if they had not ? I am almost sure that it would not be here talking to you. I receive a lot of encouragement from others in my youth and I enjoy think about it, it makes me smile.

    Mary and I are invited out for a visit and lunch today by our niece who moved here from Memphis a few weeks ago, they are so kind to come pick us up and show us their new home and then bring us home in the afternoon, now can you beat that for kindness. Dad

    DADS FRIDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONR HUNDRED FIFTY FOUR

    " Live for others every day- its the best the better way "


    Good Morning,



    I am so glad that even though the tomato season is over in Dads weather zone the season for Smiles is not, the season for smiles never closes, They grow at the lowest temperatures of the poles as well at the equator, and since producing smiles is going to be my subject for the coming fall and winter months, we need to get busy, and I will appreciate any help from you, ! yes you, send me any thing that you think would start a smile and I will use it. Dad


    Today

    Plenty of sun. High 32C. Winds light and variable.


    Except for a few afternoon clouds, mainly sunny. High near 90F. Winds light and variable.


    That looks good to Dad, being outside again today will be wonderful , I enjoyed it so much yesterday after noon, nothing beats sitting there on the patio watching nature in action and thinking of all the good things that God has done for you.

    DADS THURSDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRD ONR FIFTY THREE

    Good Morning.


    When we left home yesterday morning to go t0 the Wound Healing center we did not think that we would be gone but just a short time. We did end up spending most of the day there and receiving a lot of hope that we are on the right track.


    We were given one treatment an another appointment for August the 18th. We were really surprised at the Doctors were so interested in us and so very kind and understanding I enjoyed a good nights sleep last night after the treatment and that there is hope for old Dad to maybe have a few more days of enjoyable life with you. I am sorry that we did not get this to you yesterday afternoon, but I was so tired when we returned home that I found Prince and had a nap with him.We will be adding more later as it comes back to us. Now I am smiling this morning, come smile with me. DAD


    I am in need of a cup of that X bold coffee right now, I know that you would join me if it were possible so sit and drink and enjoy, After this I am going to give the golf cart a little run around the Outdoor Habit and check a few things, and of course pick up the morning paper. I could not operate with out my cart.

    I was thinking of not mentioning anything about my visit to the outpatient department at Mercy Hospital this morning, but would that be fair ? Mary has done a good job in getting me ready for the visit. All of you have went through this with me from the beginning and I want you with me today, Mary will be sitting in on the first conference at 8 a.am.  and I am sure that you will be hearing from her soon as she can get to this old Bell
