Entry # SIXTEEN HUNDRED & TWO.

Dad, here’s the woodpecker picture. It was in our backyard pecking on one of those old dead trees. Remember, you told me not to cut them down, but leave them for the woodpeckers.
Here’s the same picture, but cropped so you can see the woodpecker better. I took these pictures with a 35mm camera and scanned them a few years ago. This fellow or one of his friends have been back since this picture was taken. It seems they will visit us one or twice a year. Thanks Jim, I appreciate the pictures, DAD.

This Thursday morning is going to be a wet one. It rained all day Wednesday and the weather report is the same for today. I will let you know how much has fallen when I get it. Flash flood warnings are out for most of the Tennessee Valley. Wednesday's rainfall was 1.62 inches an a little more than that is expected today, The tempeature at 3 a.m. was 48.

The pictures with the captions will explain the woodpecker picture above. This picture was taken by Jim in his back yard. There are a lot of them all around here, they are an interesting bird to watch. I want to thank Jim for letting me use them.

Some of you have ask about Princess, well she is just like us some good days and some not so good. Today happens to be one of her good days, she has been very active today and eats and drinks well. You would know that Mary gives her the best of care.

Well I have had one of my cups of coffee and I am feelin better.

Well how are you this new morning. All is well here in The Tennessee Valley. We had a windy day yesterday, and it was cool all day.

But I see that it is some warmer here this morning, at 4:25 a.m. it is 63 and the wind has calmed down. Now that seems like something that I can enjoy.

I am out of my bed but that is all I am going to say right now, I hardly know how I do feel, not bad and not very good, I just seem to have a tired feeling. but I think that a couple of cups of coffee might help that.

GOOD MORNING,

Do you feel as good as I do this morning ? I went to bed just a little earlier last night and had one of those good restful sleeps. Some nights I am not that fortunate, Seems that I wake up in the middle of the night and just hunt for something to worry about. Now that is foolish, I really don't have anything to worry about and if I did worrying about it would not help one bit, only make it worse. So I try to get myself set right and leave everything to the one who holds my every breath in his hands.

So you can see why I am feling good this morning. I am going to try and get out of this little office and get something done, There are blue birds, red birds and every kind of bird that you could think of calling on me to fill those feeders, and I gotta do it. It has been a little on the cool side in the early mornings, yesterday morning it was 22 at 4 a.m. but it begins to warm up when the sun comes up over the cow shed.

Now I want to mention something about coffee, when you buy coffee you may think that you are getting a full pound of coffee, look and you will see that most of the packages will say 12 ounces or some may say 14. Now if you will look on a pound of Starbucks it will say 16 ounces , thats a full pound.No one ask me to say this, I just noticed it the other day and thought it was interesting. I am not getting any compensation for passing it on too you. DAD.

Good Morning.

Sure enough it is Saturday morning, so you can sleep as long as you want too, all day will be alright with me, that is if you do not have one of those jobs that requires you too work.

I am going to prepare some tea and coffee anyway and if any of you want to stop by and see old Dad he will be happy to see you.

You know that it is a long time untill monday morning and I won't be back untill then.

Mary and I have been invited to have lunch with Don and Martha after our sunday morning meeting, and I think that our friends from Canada Barrie and Audrey will be there, and maybe another one or two. We will enjoy it very much.

No we did not produce the tomatoes in the picture above, Mary saw them in the grocery store today while she was shopping and she always thinks of Dad when she sees tomatoes. They are petty but I have already tasted them and they are not anything like our own. We have them beat by a country mile

A few days ago I noticed a few Eastern Blue Birds looking around like they were seeing what was going to be avaible when spring comes. I always have four boxes ready and they are used most years two times.

GOOD MORNING,

I love Friday mornings, even if we do have to work today we can think about tomorrow and Sunday.And I am sure that we all have a lot planned for Sunday.

We do have something good happening to us on Sunday, our two good friends who live in Canada, Barrie and Audrey are coming to see us. They will be in our Sunday morning meeting. They usually come twice each year but this year they did not get to come in the spring because of sickness. We will be very glad to see them.

.

They are the ones that make maple syrup, from the sap out of the tree, a lot of work until it is in the jug, and It's good. Mary and I have had a lot of pancakes using it. I have had their picture in my blog a few times.

GOOD MORNING,

Well how are you doing on this Thursday morning ? I think that I am doing alright, it's a little to early to tell you right now. I will let you know for sure after I have had a cup of coffee.

Now I have had one cup and that helped a lot, maybe one more will do the job, I sure don't want to be going around here this morning without a smile..........I would like to be kind to everyone that I meet today.

And I do have plenty of tea and coffee ready if you want to stop in, but do come early if you can.

I won't have time to say too much, Mary has a doctor appointment at 9:30 a.m. and we need to leave for that at 8:30.

We are waiting patiently for Google to replace the Blog that we lost, no luck yet but they tell us that they are working on it. The main reason that we are wanting it back so much is because we need to finish the side panel on the present one. We have a great number of favorite link of a lot of you that we want to get there as soon as we can. I sure don't want any of you to think that I have forgotten you. I could never do that.
