ENTRY # FIFTEEN HUNDRED & TWELVE.

  

Good Morning.

I am happy to see another Saturday morning, It means to me that we can slow down  a little bit and maybe get ourselves back on track, We get so taken up with things that don't really matter, and I for one do need to get my thought's on things that do.

    MY FIRST ENTRY


     

    Good Morning:

    Today is my first entry on my  Journal.I feel like I know many of you.I have met you in Dads Tomato Garden. I have two web pages and working on another one,it will be ready soon.It is about Roses and Song Birds.I will have links from DadsTomato Garden to all my other sites.

    Its a beautiful day here in East Tenn.At 7:50 the tempeature is 73.4  High extected is 90

    I feel like this Journal will be a help to me in the things I am trying to do. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have to make this a better Journal.

    In the mood space this morning I said that my mood was thankful, and that is the way that I feel. Just so thankful to see the light of another day, We know that for all  of us that our time on this earth is short, swiftly passing away.

    If you had as good a rest as I did last night I think that we are going to have a good day, we did have our usual troubles yesterday and I was tired at bed time and I think me being tired help me to sleep good, None of our problems were  so bad, we were able to handle them

    So now I am ready for my coffee which will soon be ready also the tea, come on in.

      Garden Friends Part 1: Attracting Hummingbirds

      My favorite birds are hummingbirds.

      These tiny, vibrant creatures can bring a smile in an instant.

      I love their natural curiosity and how they are able to appear motionless. Besides a hummingbird feeder, there are many plants that will attract them. Here are a few of my favorites.

      1) Sunset Hyssop (Agastache rupestris)

      All of the hyssops that have pink or orange flowers attract hummingbirds, but my favorite is Sunset hyssop. These flowers are a brilliant mixture of orange, purple and pink. When I worked at a water conservation garden, I loved pruning by this plant. The hummingbirds were always nearby, sparring. Sometimes they would zip right near my head to see what I was doing. This plant has a splendid scent - described as licorice or root beer. Once it is established, it is drought resistant

      ENTRY # FIFTEEN HUNDRED & EIGHT.

      Good  Tuesday Morning.

      The reason that I added Tuesday morning  to this is because I wanted you to know that this a new Entry, it starts off looking so much like the one that I had yesterday. But I wanted you to see some of these thing again. DAD.

      DAD'S OUT DOOR WEB CAM

      This is the Cam that we have been talking about. We had planned it for the tomato season but we are running a little late. We will be showning scenes  in the front and back yards this fall and winter, and then in the spring it will be 100% tomatoes.  And then we can actually see them grow. 

      The view that you are seeing this morning is the Flag in our back yard with the Tomato Garden in the back. Our Flag is lighted so we never take it down I hope that you will enjoy this.   Dad.

      Webcam Help

      Hello.  We are delighted that you are visiting Dad's Journal and hope that you will view his webcam.  This page contains some information that we hope will help if you are having any problems viewing the webcam.

      After you click on the webcam link from Dad's blog, you will see the Intellinet login screen.  By default, the login username and password are set to – guest.  There are 3 more items on this page.  First, you must have ActiveX for Windows in order to view the camera.  If you log in and you do not have ActiveX for Windows, you should see a gold bar at the top of the page.  Click on that bar and you will see an option to Install ActiveX.  This will download the file from the Microsoft website and it only takes a few seconds.

      Secondly,if you are using a web browser other thanInternet Explorer (like AOL or Firefox)click on the button beside the sentence that starts with, "Java Applet for Netscape…".

      If you are behind a firewall, click on the check box that says, "Check here if your computer is behind a firewall".  Now click the Login button.

      The camera window should open and you should see the streaming video.  On the right side near the bottom, you will see an option that says "Expansion".  By default, that is set to "1".  Click on the pointer beside the number 1 and you can choose to make the video screen smaller or larger, up to 2 times the current size.  When you are finished viewing Dad's webcam, please click on "Logout" on the left side of the screen near the bottom of the page.

      If you are still unable to log in and view the video, please send an email to Pamela@recordrelics.com and she will try to help you with any viewing problems.

      I do want to THANK  My two good friends Pamela & Michael for being so much help in me being  able to have this Cam. I had wanted one for a long time and whem Michael & Pamela heard me talking about it they got busy.

        This is the Cam that we have been talking about. We had planned it for the tomato season but we are running a little late.         “Can you help us identify this bug that is killing our tomato plants? It isvery tiny, white,multi-legged (maybe 6 legs - too small to determine), goes in and hollows out the root and stem of the tomato plants.”

        This is tricky without a photo. Tiny white bugs that attack tomatoes include whiteflies and aphids (which come in virtually every color of the rainbow), although neither of those matches your description perfectly.
