On This Day A Boy is Born

Mandy and Alex Rogers today celebrate the birth of their new baby boy, Atley James Rogers.

This is Jim (Tennessee Granddaddy) writing in Dad’s blog. Mandy is my granddaughter and today it makes Beverly and me GREAT grandparents. (Earlier this year I mentioned that we would become great grandparents to Mandy. She looked at us and sweetly told me that we were already “great” grandparents.)

Dad would be proud and smiling if he were alive today because this would of made five generations living.

You can read more about Atley and see some pictures at my website: http://tennesseegrandaddy.blogspot.com/

002Dad’s Fountains
I have set up one of Dad’s fountains in my backyard just off the patio. It is so nice to sit out there and hear the water running and watch the birds enjoy the water. It will be a continuing reminder of Dad and his love for the birds and wildlife. I have also been giving some thought to getting my place certified as a wildlife habitat like Dad’s residence.

Congratulations on your great grandchild! It's good that you were able us take the water fountain for your own yard, it will be a pleasant reminder of your Dad. II'm glad you keep us updated, I feel like I know your family after reading your Dad's blog for so many years.

Congratulations! What a lucky baby to be born into such a wonderful family. DAD's gentle philosophy for life will live on through Atley and the next generation.

What a great idea to bring one of your DAD's fountains to your house. I too have been thinking about getting certified. Your backyard looks like it already meets the qualifications.

Congratulations Jim and Beverly you are "great" Great-Grandparents.
The fountain is beautiful in your garden. Your tears on DAD's death have strengthen you and you are keeping his memories close, as well as in your heart. Your wildlife habitat is filling with new tenents. I like to think that they were told to follow the sound of the joyous water. Aloha.

Congratulations to the entire family on the birth of the newest addition, Atley James. He is just so cute. Great granddaddy is already planning boating and fishing trips with the little guy. So sorry DAD did not get to meet the little guy but he left behind a wonderful book for Atley to read about his amazing Great Great Grandfather, Ray White.

I love that you moved DAD's fountain to your home. It brought him so much peace and calmness. I remember the videos he and Mary made with the sound in the background. I miss DAD's updates but I do go back and revisit and it is like finding a hidden treasure in the form of words, photos, videos, sound.

Thanks for continuing to let us into the White family.

Congrats to you and the rest of your family! So glad you could use the fountain in the yard! I found small uses for some of my mother's things as well, but since I rent and my brother owns and is newly married, I let him take most of the stuff. And to echo a comment up there....thanks for letting us to continue to share the family :)
