I don't know if I am able yet to write any kind of a decent journal, but I know that sweet Misty would want me to try so here I go, bear with me.
For a starter we could look at this below, beautiful flowers and tomatoes from Burpee. This is where I am getting my plants this year, around April the 1st

For several years now it has always been that I go to Sara's Dog Training blog, and I am not going to stop now, even though Misty will not be with us, She would want us to go on as usual. We do miss her so very much, (I lost two of my Shelties years ago and we still talk of enjoying them so much.) Now Oreo we want you to know that we LOVE you, and are expecting to see you soon. Thanks to all you Sara for bringing smiles many mornings when I have been grouchy. DAD.

TUESDAYS ENTRY # TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED SIX

" Give of your best to the Master."

Good Morning.

I am very sad this morning as I begin writing this tuesday morning journal. Joan was so nice to let us see an email that she received from her daughter Sara that explains things that I could never do, I do want to thank both Sara and her Mon Joan for this.

We brought Misty to the ER last night. She had stopped breathing twice, basically died in our arms, but then came back. Obviously, she was battling to stay alive, but in distress.

The doctor told us that Misty was in congestive heart failure, and she probably wouldn't make it through the night. We had hoped to have her euthanized at our vet in the morning, but we couldn't watch her struggle to breath anymore. Can't tell you how relieved we were when she was finally at rest. It seemed to come on so fast, but the doctor said that dogs have a very good way of compensating, and she had probably been having problems for some time. She assured us we were doing the right thing, especially given her bladder cancer. Misty was fighting too many battles.

I know how much you loved her. She loved you too.

This is a great shock to me, we knew that misty was very sick but it was still a surpris to Dad.

I always go to Sara's Dog Training blog to see how all is going there, this morning I must say Sara , Oreo and the sweet memories of Misty, I will never forget her . Her smile meant a lot to me. Sara I have a picture of the two Misty and Oreo sitting on my desk. DAD.

My nephew Frank sent this to me and I had to share it. It's been a tears day....first news of Misty and now this lovely story. View below. Joan.

Here’s another interesting email I received about some deer that went for a boat ride…

I’ve heard of salmon jumping into boats but... Four young Sitka black-tailed bucks fell upon good luck Sunday as they were pulled from the icy waters of Stephens Passage, Alaska by a group of locals on Tom Satre's 62-foot charter vessel. Four juvenile Sitka black-tailed deer swam directly toward the boat.

Once the deer reached the boat, the four began to circle the boat, looking directly at the humans on board. Clearly, the bucks were distressed. With help, the typically skittish and absolutely wild animals came willingly onto the boat. Once onboard, they collapsed with exhaustion, shivering.

Here the rescued bucks rest on the back of Tom Satre's boat, the Alaska Quest. All four deer were transported to Taku Harbor. Once the group reached the dock, the first buck that had been pulled from the water hopped onto the dock, looked back, then leapt into the harbor, swam to shore, and disappeared into the forest. After a bit of prodding and assistance from the humans, two others followed suit, but one deer needed more help.

Here he is being transported by Tom Satre.

Tom, Anna and Tim Satre help the last of the "button" bucks to its feet. They did not know how long the deer had been in the icy waters or if there had been others who did not survive. The good Samaritans (humans) describe their experience as "one of those defining moments in life." I’m sure it was for the deer as well.

I never tire of telling you that I do love these early mornings visits with you, especially this one on Monday morning. I am not teasing you I mean it, Nothing could be better than sitting here in complete silence, nothing but the sound of the wildlife out in the trees around the tomato garden. I must have this little time alone before I start the day. Wthhout it I don't know if I could make it or not. It gives me time to meditate and think about how I might spend the time that I have left to live in this world " Time is precious- do not waste it".

It looks like that I have forgot what I was going to tell you next, but I did think of Sara, Misty and Oreo is important to me , so let's stop in at Sara's Dog Training blog and see what is going on, I am hoping that they all are doing good, especially Misty. Dad.

And it seems that I have not said very much about our coffee lately, yes we still us Sumatra x bold Starbucks coffee, I would be afraid to quit using it, I know of several readers that might leave me, especially one, DAD .

Today is Saturday and I won't be here Sundayy so I want to go see about my friends, I just can't wait untill monday morning to find out about Jeff, Sara, Misty and Oreo Here we are at Sara's Dog Training blog. I am anixously waiting to hear about that sweet Misty. I want to tell you Misty that Dad is pulling for you, he understands, he does not feel as good now as when he was young. and don't forget Misty that Dad loves you. DAD

I received this a few days ago. It’s very touching…

I have heard of this, but this is the first time I have seen it. . . . .

The first picture and the last picture are taken at the beach in Santa Barbara right next to the pier. There is a veterans group that started putting a cross and candle for every death in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The amazing thing is that they only do it on the weekends. They put up this graveyard and take it down every weekend.

Guys sleep in the sand next to it and keep watch over it at night so nobody messes with it.

Every cross has the name, rank and D.O.B. and D.O.D. on it.

Very moving, very powerful??? so many young volunteers.

So many 30 to 40 year olds as well. Amazing !

How are you feeling on this Friday morning, you can go ahead and smile our day of rest, relaxing and renewing will soon be here, and I do need it real bad. There is a verse in the bible that goes something like this ( I am going to let you look it up.) " There is more on our side than there is against us." That is a wonderful promise, but we ourselves have to keep true to God to claim that promise for our own.

I need to take a coffee break and while I am out would you let me go by and check on Sara, Misty and Oreo, and tell Jeff that we don't forget him. I have had two Sheltie's in my lifetime that were bad sick at times, and Sara I do feel for you . We feel so helpless in these times. DAD.

I have not said very much about myself this morning, I can't say that I am in a Happy mood, more like a weak smile mood, but I feel like things are going to improve as the day goes on. Everything has worked so well this morning as I try to write this journal, I have not been bothered by any early maintenance work and it has been a pleasure to be here with you.

I have news for you, I am not that complaining old man that talked to you yesterday morning, I can even say that my mood is Happy. My feet are so much better and I am convinced that doctor D.W' knew what he was doing, I think that I will keep him.

I wonder what kind of a mood Sara, Misty and Oreo are in this morning, I hope that can say with me Happy. WEDNESDAYS ENYRY # TWO THOUSAND ONE

Good Morning

I am going to ask about you first this Wednesday morning, I do hope that all is going good so far this morning, and we hope that it contiues through the day, I must say that I am O.K. but not really could I say that I am in a happy mood. My feet have been giving me trouble, and I have been receiving treatment from my doctor, and some of his treatment is not so pleasant.
.
Maybe I can't complain to much about my feet. they have served me for 98 years, and that is a lot of mileage, can you think of many things that you are bying these days with a waranty that good.
.
I have been wishing that Sara could have some better weather, so much snow and rain, we enjoy seeing the pictures of Misty and Oreo playing in the snow, let's go to Sara's Dog Training blog and see what they are doing. I hope that they are peeking out from a warm blanket. You must not miss this today, the video of Misty and Oreo putting clean clothes away are wonderful. How do you make such good Videos, we need to hire you to give us some lessons. DAD.
