DADS SATURDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY FIVE

Live for others every day, it will bring you a lot more peace than living for yourself. Dad.

Good Morning.

I hope that all my friends are doing well this favorite morning of the week, we all are looking for a little renewing and relaxing so we will be better able to meet the enemy of our souls on Monday morning, don't worry he will be there waiting on you

I have wanted for a long time to tell you a little of what goes own each morning at the Hyperbaric oxygen therapy from the time we arrive until we are tucked in our car for the trip home. What I am going to talk about is kindness. I am not going to call any names because I might leave some one out, just the kindness that we receive.

Mary and I try to arrive in their parking lot around 9 A.M. them Mary calls to the office and in seconds there stands a young man with a wheel chair to take me to the waiting room where we are prepared for the treatments , and the lady who meets us there is so sweet, she seems to know every one by their first name.

Now the kindness does really begin. We are taken to the place where we enter by some of the kindest young men that you could ever meet.They make sure that you are seated and have blankets to keep you warm, then you are prepared for the oxygen, hoods and all that goes with it. And all during the two hour stay one of these young men stay with us,to watch over us and see that all is well. Now do you call that kindness. Dr Hall I do think that you have the best group of workers, that I have seen, they work so closely together with no complaints. DAD

DADS SATURDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY ONE

Good Morning to you on this Saturday morning, a favorite morning for all of us. We think of a little rest and relaxing for the next two days. I am not so sure about us. We have been invited by Jim to a cabin that he has on Douglas lake for lunch.

My niece and here husband are going to let us ride with them, which we do appreciate. We will return in the early afternoon to get everything ready for our Sunday morning meeting.

BYE BYE TOMATOES, yes the season is over, when you view Camera # 2 today you will see a mostly vacant spot, but just give me a few more working days the first of the week and I hope to be able to show you a Wildlife Habitat that the birds and every other wild creature that comes our way will SMILE.

DADS FRIDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SIXTY

Good Morning

I am sure that you have noticed that the tomato plants on Camera # 2 are gone, yes the tomato season is over, but it will be back soon, until then this spot will be an improved Wildlife Hibatat for the fall and winter months

It will take us a few days to get it set up and working properly. Watch for it. DAD

DADS SATURDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FIFTY FIVE

"Spend the week end with God and helping others Dad "

Good Morning.

This day is of course one of the best days of the week for old Dad. No more writing until Monday morning, and looking to have two days in which to be renewed and refreshes for the coming week, and we are so glad that we have our Sunday Mornings meetings to do that for us, I am so thankful to my Dad and Mother for taking me to these meeting when I was only five or six years old, I ask myself sometimes where would I be today if they had not ? I am almost sure that it would not be here talking to you. I receive a lot of encouragement from others in my youth and I enjoy think about it, it makes me smile.

DADS FRIDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONR HUNDRED FIFTY FOUR

Good Morning,

I am so glad that even though the tomato season is over in Dads weather zone the season for Smiles is not, the season for smiles never closes, They grow at the lowest temperatures of the poles as well at the equator, and since producing smiles is going to be my subject for the coming fall and winter months, we need to get busy, and I will appreciate any help from you, ! yes you, send me any thing that you think would start a smile and I will use it. Dad

That looks good to Dad, being outside again today will be wonderful , I enjoyed it so much yesterday after noon, nothing beats sitting there on the patio watching nature in action and thinking of all the good things that God has done for you.

DADS THURSDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRD ONR FIFTY THREE

Good Morning.

When we left home yesterday morning to go t0 the Wound Healing center we did not think that we would be gone but just a short time. We did end up spending most of the day there and receiving a lot of hope that we are on the right track.

We were given one treatment an another appointment for August the 18th. We were really surprised at the Doctors were so interested in us and so very kind and understanding I enjoyed a good nights sleep last night after the treatment and that there is hope for old Dad to maybe have a few more days of enjoyable life with you. I am sorry that we did not get this to you yesterday afternoon, but I was so tired when we returned home that I found Prince and had a nap with him.We will be adding more later as it comes back to us. Now I am smiling this morning, come smile with me. DAD

I am in need of a cup of that X bold coffee right now, I know that you would join me if it were possible so sit and drink and enjoy, After this I am going to give the golf cart a little run around the Outdoor Habit and check a few things, and of course pick up the morning paper. I could not operate with out my cart.

DAD'S SATURDAY'S ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FORTY NINE

" Begin , Continue and Finish every day of your life with God " " Time is so precious-do not waste it "

Good Morning

I am sure that you remember that Dad is a Saturday morning man, I love these Saturday mornings they remind me of Relaxing and Restoring and I feel the need of that, read Psalm 51 and see what David said about that.

Even though I am feeling some better I am not going to let myself go wild, this weekend. After all my new treatments begin on Wednesday August the 10th. I do plan to stay quiet and close to Dads house. I believe that they will be seeing me each week from this unit for a while

I would like to say that Mercy Hospital has been so kind and good to Dad, gave me a lot more than I deserve. I also very much appreciate my wonderful doctors, Dr. Wooten, Dr. Gilley, and Dr. Sandberg.

And the kind and helping hand of the Nurses that come to my home each week to assist Mary and I. They are wonderful and I hope that some of you are reading this because I want to say THANK YOU. DAD

Good Morning

This is the day that we all have been looking for, a day of rest, relaxing and renewing, Mary and I are going to take advantage of this by being in our Sunday morning and then spend the after noon with Prince

Since this is Saturday I am not going to say more now, but I will be back during the morning with more.

I have a few things that I must see about early this morning

Yes I am still here and feeling very good, I have not done very much this morning as my cart is in the shop, I will have it back the first of the week with 6 new batteries, then I can stir up some dust.

At 10:52 a.am. the temperature is 85, and sunny but I see storm clouds coming out of the west. It looks dangerous.

I will be gone for a few minuets I am going to Lowe's to pick up two outside timers to use on my two lighted Cameras. That should be interesting. DAD

This is one mornings that we all look forward to. We think of a few days of time to rest and relax and get renewed in Spirit and body, and the thought brings me my first smile of the day.

Through The Storms I did not know His love before, the way I know it now.
I could not see my need for Him, my pride would not allow.
I had it all, without a care, the Self-sufficient lie.
My path was smooth, my sea was still, not a cloud was in my sky.
I thought I knew His love for me, I thought I'd seen His grace,
I thought I did not need to grow, I thought I'd found my place.
But then the way grew rough and dark, the storm clouds quickly rolled;
The waves began to rock my ship, my anchor would not hold.
The ship that I had built myself was made of foolish pride.
It fell apart and left me bare, with nowhere else to hide.
I had no strength or faith to face the trials that lay ahead,
And so I simply prayed to Him and bowed my weary head.
His loving arms enveloped me, and then He helped me stand.
He said, You still must face this storm, but I will hold your hand.
So through the dark and lonely night He guided me through pain.
I could not see the light of day or when the storm might wane.
Yet through the aches and endless tears, my faith began to grow.
I could not see it at the time, but my light began to glow.
I saw God's love in brand new light, His grace and mercy, too.
For only when all self was gone could God's love shine through.
It was not easy in the storm, I sometimes wondered, Why
At times I thought, I can't go on. I'd hurt, and doubt, and cry.
But God never left my side, He guided me each day.
Through pain and strife, through fire and flood, He helped me all the way.
And now I see as never before how great His love can be.
How in my weakness He is strong, how God cares for me!
He worked it all out for my good, although the way was rough.
He only sent what I could bear, and then He cried, Enough!
He raised His hand and said, Be still! He made the storm clouds cease.
He opened up the gates of joy and flooded me with peace.
I saw His face now clearer still, I felt His presence strong,
I found anew His faithfulness, He never did me wrong.
Now I know more storms will come, but only for my good,
For pain and tears have helped me grow as naught else ever could.
I still have so much more to learn as God works in me;
If in the storm I'll love Him more, that's where I want to be!

How are all my friends feeling on this nice Saturday morning ? It's a day of rejoicing for the most of us for we know that a little relaxing time is coming up,for the most of us. For myself I write no more journals until Monday morning. There is no doubt on what Pamela and Carol are so happy about, who wouldn't with all those fish that they caught.

This is what Jim wrote about their fishing trip on Friday.

"Here's the result. We had our limit of 8 lake trout before 1 PM. They averaged about 5 pounds each. Largest was over 7 lb. A good day. Pamela and Carol were happy girls!"

DADS SATURDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FIVE

" Time is so precious-do not waste it ''

Good morning to my friends all around this wide world. Another Saturday has slipped in upon us, and as i say above we sure don't want to waste any of it. I like this day because I get to rest tomorrow as I don't write a Journal on Sunday.

We try to use that day for something more important than Journals, Journals will pass away, but what God can give us is forever. I will be back here at Dad's Tomato Garden Journal Monday if all is well. Dad.

In this part of the country there has been a lot of hay baling going on. We enjoy seeing the bales of hay in the fields as they make a very pretty scene. And we know they will help feed the livestock when winter rolls around. It reminds us we need to be prepared for the future.

In the right panel above are the picture of the two books by Vic Weals that are on sale. I have both of those and I am enjoying looking them over as I drink my x bold coffee. Vick sure knows how to write about these Smoky Mountains and the people that lived there that he loved so much, it makes you feel that you are right there with him.
