This is Teo above. He is so beautiful. He belongs to our friend Sara who lives in Italy. I wish that he belonged to Dad, but I don't think that there would ever be a chance for that to happen. Click on the link below for other views of Teo.    DAD

      Raw Tomatoes Linked to Salmonella

      Raw Tomatoes Linked to Salmonella

      By Michelle Fabio

Recent reports by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have warned that some outbreaks of salmonella infections over the past fifteen years have been linked to raw tomatoes.

While the overall odds are low that you would contract salmonella infections from raw tomatoes, the CDC estimates that there may have been up to 79,000 such illnesses from twelve multi-state outbreaks since 1990.

Since the chance is there, according to the CDC, you should always follow these precautions when handling raw tomatoes:
      • Don’t buy bruised or damaged tomatoes.
      • Washall tomatoes thoroughly just before eating.
      • Refrigerate cut, peeled, or cooked tomatoes within 2 hours, or discard them.
      • Separate cut tomatoes from raw, unwashed produce items, raw meats, and raw seafood.
Indeed, by following these tips, you are not only greatly decreasing your risk of contracting salmonella from raw tomatoes but also maximizing the flavor of your tomatoes—you should really think of these, then, as Raw Tomato Rules as opposed to simply guidelines.

    •   BE SURE AND LOOK AT THIS TODAY FIND THINGS THAT ARE HARD TO FIND...AND THEY CAN SHIP ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

I love the pic of Teo. He's one handsome pup. :-)

I thought I would pop by to wish Happy Friday to my TN friends and maybe have a spot of coffee. :-)

Good morning!  It is beautiful weather here in Maryland.  Love the photo of Teo, bet my daughter would love him.  She always wanted a german shepherd puppy when she was little, but when she got older she settled on a kitten.  Don't figure, LOL. I call it Brat Cat, but she is a sweetie.  Sometimes we all get down in life, but it sure makes looking up even more brighter.  God's blessings to you!  And SMILE!

Good morning Dad, Teo makes a beautiful picture. That apple tree is pretty. Those look to yellow for a crab apple. May be an old fashioned horse apple which are delicious with white looking inside. Have a nice day today along with Mary and Princess. Helen

I like them apples, Dad! ;)

Your Thought For The Day really resonated with me, for reasons you know.  I wish we would ALL live by that thought.  It would make the world a much, much better place.

My friends are coming home tomorrow, and they'll have two different kinds of TOMATOES waiting for them, on and off the vine.  :)

Another week has passed!  Next week at this time I'll be on my way to my folks' memorial service.

There are new roses and palm trees in the yard -- they look really beautiful.

Best to you all, and big PURRS to the Princess beauty! ^^
