ENTRY # SIXTEEN HUNDRED & SEVENTY THREE.

I wish that I could say that all the pictures on this Entry were taken this morning, but I am sorry they are not. But it won't be long until
I will be saying that. I think that these pictures were made from the 2007 year crop.

Good Morning.
.
Time is so precious-do not waste it
.
BEGIN THE DAY WITH GOD
.
Don't Drop The Baton.
.
The sun never sets on Dad's Tomato Garden Journal.
.
Tuesday has arrived and I hope that you are ready again for another new day. They come often, don't they?
.
I have water getting hot for Tea, and more of that Green Mountain Coffee perking, I know that you can almost smell it perking, there is no other thing that smell as good as the first coffee each morning. You come on in here when you can, I am saving a seat for you. DAD.

Here below is an interesting link to start the day with.
.

We are still having cool mornings and then sunny day,s It is 28 here this morning. I will be glad to see some real summer weather. I want to tell all of you that are having so much snow that I do not forget about you.

. Here is my thought for today.

" Come what may hold fast to Love ! Though men should rend your heart, let them not embitter or harden it. We win by tenderness; We conquer by forgiveness. "

and this one.

"He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass, for every man has need to be forgiven."

. These two thoughts are from the little book Apples of Gold.. .
When I think about and share these thoughts I am not thinking of any one but old DAD. I know that he is the one that needs them..

I too am very weary from all this cold. 12 degrees here this morning. Tomorrow they say it will be warmer. I'm hoping for summer too. I think a fresh tomato from the garden would perk us all up. 'On Ya'-ma

Dad, zero degrees wind chill with six inches of snow on the ground. Philly surburbs.
I had a tomato garden for 35 years. It was only 20 by 20 but it did give us a lot of tomatos, peppers, beans, peas, corn peanuts potatoes and on and on. I tried everything I could find at least once. I was always the first in the neighborhood to get a red tomato. Generally by the 4 th of July.
Not a rock or a weed in my soil. I sifted it down to about two feet through a eight of an inch screen. Downsized our housing about twelve years ago and have no yard, jsut a golf course out back. I still miss my tomatos. Read your blog everyday and enjoy it.
I couldn't believe you could drive your gold cart between your plants. My plants were usually less than two feet apart.
We ahould be able to paly golf up here in less than three weeks and I am looking forward to that. Good luck with the planting this year but I know you do not need luck. Bill
