Let me grow lovely, growing old.
So many fine things do: laces & ivory & gold and silks.
And there is healing in old trees; old streets a glamour hold.
Why may not I, as well as these, grow lovely, growing old?

Here is a good joke.
Ever guilty of looking at others your own age and thinking, surely I can't look that old?Well, you'll love this one. A lady was sitting in the waiting room for her first appointment with a new dentist. She noticed his diploma, which had his full name. Suddenly, she remembered a tall, handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name had been in her high school class some 30-odd years ago. Could he be the same guy that she had a secret crush on, way back then? Upon seeing him, however, she quickly discarded any such thought. This balding, gray-haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been her classmate. After he examined her teeth, she asked him if he had attended Morgan Park High school. 'Yes. Yes, I did.' he gleamed with pride. 'When did you graduate?' I asked. He answered, 'In 1967. Why do you ask?' 'You were in my class!' she exclaimed. He looked at me closely. Then he asked, "What did you teach?

Thank you once more for starting my day with a SMILE. I think I really needed one this morning and almost forgot that very thing. I hadn't smiled at all til I read your entry this morning. Now my day will be much better.
Have a great Tuesday!
Good Morning DAD...
Thanks for serving the coffee this AM along with those very funny Business Quotes. I think everyone will SMILE when they read each of them. The joke on looking older was also very funny. And the poem on growing lovely as one grows older was beautiful like lace and silk and gold. Was it one of Mary's poems.
Today I plan to work in the yard, cutting down the last of the perennials and trimming some of the bushes. Even they have to get ready for the winter.
I know you love shelties but don't you just want one of those mini-pigs! As a tiny piglet it could even sit on your desk and watch you work at your blog.
Have a good day. ...Sara's Mom
Good Morning Dad!
I think I will have a cup of that coffee this morning if you have some to spare! I hope all is well with you and Mary this morning. Just wanted to stop by and say hello!
I love you!

Dear Dad and Ms. Mary:
I am enjoying my coffee, thank you! and SMILING after looking at the gorgeous photos of the lighthouse at dusk, and of the Smokies in Autumn - how I would love to be there with my loved ones! It looks so beautiful. You are so fortunate to live there!
The poem is wonderful, too -- I can picture everything in it.
Love to you both from Jamaka and fams
My mom asked me today if I was getting a mini pig.
"What are you talking about?" I said.
"Check Dad'd blog," she tells me.
So here I am. Those pigs sure are cute. I don't think mom read the whole article though...they grow to be 65 pounds! That's A LOT of pig. Even if it is mini.
I think I'll stick to my furry shelties :)
I do admit, the baby pigs did make me smile, and say, "awwwwww".
