Dad produced this tomato pictured above in his tomato garden in 2008. I hope that I can do that good in 2011..
I imagine that you think that Old Dad has lost it, but I am o.k. the last line of the poem below is what caused me to be thinking about spring. You can ask Mary about me or check the 3 outsidw cams and you might get a glimse of me wandering around on my cart doing nothing.

Good Morning DAD...
Thanks for the coffee, it kept me warm while reading about those winter winds, and snows, and ice storms.
Actually, I really did enjoy the poem by Mrs. Peifer. It made me think of the beauty of spring with trees blossoming and bulbs bursting out of the ground which is turning green. But, I do love the fall, working outside, removing all the end of summer debris and seeing pumpkins and gourds and the beautiful colors in the trees and the crispness of the air. My mother loved to visit in the fall and would say "the trees remind her of a beautiful patchwork quilt". You can see what it looks like if you visit Shooting My Universe's blog. He captures all the fall beauty of the northeast. Once those leaves are gone, all the words used by Mrs. Peifer is what we can expect and than I will want to look beyond winter to spring.
Do keep your cams up and running, I like to visit the birds a few times a day at Cam #3. Sure wish I could figure out how to see the other 2. Maybe when a get a newer PC I'll get to see them. This pc is pretty old and very basic. I just had Jeff order me another battery, my 3rd, so you can imagine how old the laptop is.

Spring is my favorite season as well, but who was it who said something like "nature gives to every season its beauties"? We're very glad of cooler weather, clouds, and some rain here (and it saves having to water the yard!). That tomato is perfect, Dad -- was it as good as it looks? Hope so!
Just tried to see your WebCams 1 and 3 again --always keep hope, right? -- but no.

Just visited the front feeder and what did a see....a big squirrel! At first I thought it was a reflection of Prince through the window but when it lifted its head I saw squirrel.
Forgot to mention the perfect tomato you grew last year. I know you grew a lot of perfect ones in 2010 because I was lucky enough to be the recipient of some and they were delicious.

Dear DAD,
At Whole Foods they had Beefsteak tomatoes. I am one of your friends who has enjoyed a juicy, delicious red tomato between bread for lunch today. Thought of you and then I read that you were thinking of all of us eating tomatoes today. I have seen that squirrel. He sure loves the birds' treats. Aloha, Sara's aunt.
Hey Dad...just peeking over at you there - just east of me. Hope all is going well and I see you are thinking of Spring already. Oh I can't wait to see those leaves turn and then have Christmas and 1 big snow that keeps us from going to work...then I'll be ready to think of spring. Plus us women got to enjoy our other 1/2 of the wardrobe for a few months. It's as if we have a whole new set of clothes. lol. Ya'll have a good rest of the week.
I'm looking forward to being off Friday and my sister comes to spend the night Thursday.
