We had a wonderful day yesterday, as you know by now that it was my birthday, this was near the end of the day when these pictures were taken and I was so tired , you can tell by the sad look on my face.
I am feeling good this morning and I hope to find you able to say the same. Saturdays make us think of two days of rest, and that brings a smile to our face.
Today
More sun than clouds. A stray afternoon thunderstorm is possible. High 36C. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.
Mostly sunny. A stray afternoon thunderstorm is possible. High 97F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.
Look at that 97 degrees temperature and mostly sunny, looks like another do nothing day. just set on the patio and relax and meditate, think good thoughts.
. As you I think about you turning 98, I think these reminders might help others reach 98. Joan.
HOW TO STAY YOUNG
.
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'.
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER : Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

While you had what looks like a delicious cake, I had an orange/vanilla swirl ice cream cone in honor of your 98th birthday. Yummy!
Your 99th year of living began today. I know you will make the most of it...working as much as possible in your garden and habitat, caring for the animals and birds that need you. And, writing a daily blog to put SMILES on the faces of so many...and giving advise for growing tomatoes...both of which have helped me when I needed it most.
Those eyes may look tired but definitely not sad...I see a "sparkle" of happiness and contentment and love in those eyes. Enjoy your afternoon on the patio sipping ice coffee and soaking in some vitamin D from the sunshine. ...Sara's Mom

Glad that you had a great Birthday. It was a beautiful cake. I see where your forecast calls for maybe a thunderstorm today. Our grass has about died from being so dry. That is ok because it is so hard for ken and me to try cutting it. Enjoy your Saturday. Love to both you, Mary, and Prince. Helen

How fortunate to have had your children celeberate your 98th Birthday with you. Mary and Jim make you proud. Is that a picture of your childhood home that you are admiring in one of the photos?
