It is so much fun in seeking to live for others, why not try it out for yourself today. DAD

Good Morning.

I am in a very Happy mood this Friday morning.

I have a good reason to be happy,and I will tell you just a little of it. I have not said very much lately about Smiles and Kindness, well I experience a lot of that on Thursday.I experienced more than I deserve.

It was at the Hyperbaric Oxygen  treatment that I enjoyed this, from the time that I enter until they place a blanket around my shoulders and sent me home. It was a cold morning and I did appreciate that warm blanket and seeing big smiles as I drove away, now what do you think of that. Thanks Dr. Hall and every one that is on your staff, I wish that I could mention every one of them by name, They all deserve a Big hug.DAD

Here is a little story my father told me when I was a little boy that I have remembered  all these years .

There was a man that had a large farm in our part of the country, He needed to chop  down a tree that was on the very back side of his farm, he walked all the way back there and discovered that he had forgot to bring his axe. His answer was " Well you can't expect a man to remember every thing."

    DADS TUESDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED THREE

    Good morning

    I hope that all is well with you, I am thankful that God has given us another day of life, I feel like I may not have many days left after all think of 98 x years, But what I am going to do is live the best that I can in " Living for others " the days God spares me. Dad

    It is now 3:32 p.m and we are home from the the oxygen treatment and it went well and I feel like is is helping me. we enjoyed the help of Charlie again this morning.

    I had plans to do a little outside work when we got home, But the rain is falling so the only thing that I can thing of is a nap

    DAD'S FRIDAY ENTRY THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED

    Time is so precious-do n0t waste it.

    Good Morning,

    I hope that I am finding all my world wide friends out of that bed and ready to face this cold cruel world. I am up and feeling good and I will feel lots better after I have had a cup of that Sumatra x bold coffee, Is is so sad to me that you can't be here and enjoy a cup with me, That might happen some time, strange things do happen.

    Just a quick hello plus sending you some of these delicious looking recipes.  I hope this note finds you well.  We are all ok, just still sad and we find that it is still hard to believe that mom is gone.  It's good that we have so many happy memories to fall back on though.

    DADS THURSDAYS ENTRY THREE THOSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY EIGHT

    .DO not waste today living  for yourself  = Live for others. DAD

    Good Morning,I hope that all of you are feeling happy and able to get to your job in a good humor, that is smiling , I think that the boss will be more pleased with that than a frown.

    Well Jim has returned to Kingsport so Mary is back on the job this morning, she does seem happy to be back, I think that she missed all of you because she would ask about you often  , we are glad to have her back be cause we all Love Mary.

    It looks like that Dr Hall has changes our schedule a little, usually when we pull onto their free parking lot, in just minuets some one arrives with a wheel chair and take me to prepare me for the two hour in the oxygen chamber that I love. It is doing me so much good that I myself am surprised

    But this morning will be a big change, and it was a surprise to us. When they pick us up in the parking lot we are going to visit Heather who is in another department, we met Heather a few years ago, and have always valued her help, and it is going to be interesting to have a visit with her again.

    It will be time for that oxygen soon Dr Hall get me back there and ready for it, I do not want to miss this, honestly this is the main reason for me to be here. Dad.

    We are so thankful for all the young men and women the Dr mills give us to serve us always with a smile

    We did have a wonderful time this morning, visiting with Heather and others along the way, it did take the starch out of me, after a few hours  of sleep I do feel more like my self and by  morning I will be ready to face any thing that comes up with a smile. DAD

    I am not going to say more here this evening , I do hope to see you here  early in the morning, I will have the Sumatra x bold ready, maybe that will entice you to get out of your bed

    DADS TUESDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE

     

    " Time is so precious- please do not waste it, use it in helping some lonely soul   to keep on going in this path of life, then when evening comes you will feel good.  "Dad

    Good Morning.

    I am wondering how all of my friends are getting along this  early in the morning at 2:10 A.M. eastern time. I don't usually ask about you first, I seem to always start talking about old Dad. I am  going to  do some about that and do as I my self say " Live and think more about my friends, after all you are all that I have and I love you, And about Dad he is doing good feeling better than I have in many days, if fact I am thinking about tomatoes season would hurry and arrive, I am already planing on what varieties and how many to get in the ground. Life is wonderful when you are able to enjoy it .

    I do not have very much planned for today, after my treatment  with Hyperbaric oxygen therpy at 10 A. M. you will find me outside checking on the Wildlife Habitat that I enjoy so much, and after that looking over the grounds to what has gone wrong during the night.

    • A cup of Starbucks Sumatra x bold would sure taste good to me right now. I wish that we could really share a cup together and not just pretend that we are, but being miles apart hinder that. I will tell you what we could really do, if you are ever passing through Knoxville just give us a call and Mary and I will actually have a cup with you, and we will bring  Prince with us, he would enjoy that.     We made it through Monday fairly well and I believe that if we work at it we can have a good day. The temperature is starting out at 81 and it will be in the high 90s for today.

  • I have not made very many plans for today and I think that I will wait until I have had my coffee and see what the weather is like. I hear heavy thunder coming from the west at 5:52 this morning. I don't think that I will have any trouble finding something there is always something needing attention.

    How are all my friends feeling on this nice Saturday morning ? It's a day of rejoicing for the most of us for we know that a little relaxing time is coming up,for the most of us. For myself I write no more journals until  Monday morning. There is no doubt  on what Pamela and Carol are so happy about, who wouldn't with all those fish that they caught.

    "Here's the result. We had our limit of 8 lake trout before 1 PM. They averaged about 5 pounds each. Largest was over 7 lb. A good day. Pamela and Carol were happy girls!"

    Good Morning.

    What kind of a humor are you in this morning, I hope that you are not frowning, I don't like frowns, you know that I like to see big smiles all around me. We are still having hot and dry weather. At 5:42 a.m. it is 71 degrees and we expect a high of 95 this afternoon, a good time to be inside and taking one of those short naps.

    DADS WEDNESDAYS ENTRY TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY SIX

    Good Morning

    I am asking you before you have your coffee, how are you this morning ? I am feeling good but I belive that a cup of that x bold would make me feel better.

    We did get a few more links added to our side panel, and we will be adding a few more later as we think of others, if any of you think of any that we have left out just let us know. I do hope that you will enjoy them. I may not have the entry # just right, but I have a had a few busy days, I will get it right.

    We are still having rain, a shower almost every afternoon, but that is fine with me, A few tomatoes plants from Burpee should arrive this morning, and we will be getting them in the ground replacing the ones that we lost by the hail storm. We may not have as many plants as we expected but I think that we are going to have some good home grown tomatoes.

    This weekend in Albany NY the 63rd annual Tulip Festival will be here to celebrate the city's Dutch Heritage. When the sun shines on the 200,000+ tulips, it is a magical site that takes your breath away.

    We are waking up to another nice morning.It is early but from what I can see it looks good. We did have a strong thunder storm late yesterday.

    We did get a few things finished yesterday that I am proud of, and I want to tell you, first we now have Cam # 2 lightet up and operating properly, and I think that you will like it, it is on all through the night.


    And next we do have 39 tomato plants in the ground, and we have 40 more on the way, and that will be if for this season, you may not be able to see very much from cam # 2 right now, but you will soon see some growth that you will enjoy. Dad. SMILE

    DAD'S FRIED GREEN TOMATOES


    Sautéed Cherry Tomatoes - Serves 4


    From JOAN PUTNICK .


    2 Tablespoon butter 1 Pint Cherry Tomatoes ¼ teaspoon salt Dash pepper 2 Tablespoon chopped fresh basil 2 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 2 Tablespoon thinly sliced green onion 1 ½ teaspoon finely chopped garlic Melt 1 Tablespoon butter in a large skillet. Add tomatoes and salt and pepper. Sauté until skins start to split open…about 3 minutes. Stir in parsley, basil, green onions and garlic. Cook stirring for 2 minutes. Reduce heat to low. Add 1 Tablespoon butter. Stir to coat well. Serve immediately.



    From Dad Dad's Southern Fried Green Tomatoes


    *6 GreenTomatoes *Salt and Pepper *Corn Meal *Vegetable Oil *2 Eggs, beaten Slice the tomatoes into 1/4-1/2 inch slices. Salt and pepper them to taste.Dip slices in beaten egg, then in the corn meal.Fry in hot oil about three minutes on each side until golden brown.


    Very Good!Dad's Salsa


    1 medium green pepper, chopped2 celery ribs, chopped1 small onion, chopped1 medium carrot, chopped1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro or parsley2 cups fresh tomatoes, diced1/2 cup water1/2 cup tomato sauce1/3 cup tomato paste3 garlic cloves, minced1 tablespoon lemon juice1/4 teaspoon pepperTortilla chips In a bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. In another bowl, combine the water, tomato sauce, tomato paste, garlic, lemon juice and pepper; stir into the vegetable mixture. Serve with chips. Refrigerate leftovers. Yield: about 3 cups.

    WEDNESDAY'S ENTRY TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE

    " Love thy neighbor as thyself "

    Good Morning.

    Are you up and ready for this Wednesday morning, I am up but I am not ready to even attempt to write a journal. We were real busy all day yesterday into the night and we did not have time to make a thought of the day Video. We are doing some work on interior doors, refinishing an such and you know that is hard work, one good thing is that we have an exlecent contractor.

    That looks good to Dad, I notice that there are to be a few 67 degrees says this week with plenty of sun. Now that has begun to get us all encouraged and counting the days until we will be working in the dirt.

    Would it be odd for me to show you these Tomato recipes when I don't even have my plants in the ground.. I warned you that I did not know what to write about today, DAD

    DAD'S FRIED GREEN TOMATOES.
