I Don't need to ask how you are this is Saturday and I know that you are smiling, so am I. I don't write a journal on sunday so I am looking for some relaxing time this weekend, and I'll tell you that I need it badly . In these early morning hours two of the first thing that I am thinking about is Sara's Dog Training blog and that good Starbucks Coffee ,( There seems to be a problem with this link we are working on it.)
- well we can do something about both of theme. Mary and I have the same plans as usual, our Sunday morning meeting and then a quiet afternoon at home relaxing with Prince, getting ourselves ready for the coming week. We hope that all of you will have a pleasant weekend, and we do send Love and best wishes your way. Dad.

The Cabin

"Things have been going OK around our home these past days. We’re excited about going to “the cabin” on Douglas Lake next week. It will be a good vacation for us. Most of our family will be joining us for at least part of the time while we are there. Our stay at “the cabin” is a gift from our friends, Allen and Claudia, who live in Florida. They are so kind to offer us the use of their cabin.
We met them when Allen and I were both going to NC State College in 1961. Beverly and I lived in Married Student Housing in Apt. E22, and Allen and Claudia live just under us. We have kept in contact through the years. If you are ever interested in renting their cabin, check it out here:"

This link will take you right to this beautiful cabin. Tennessee Homecoming click and dream and enjoy. Dad.

Do you know the young man in the picture above. I have introduced him to you before. If you have forgot his name is Micah. And he is one of my youngest readers, and he lives down in Birmingham. And that beautiful smile on the right is his Aunt Vicki. He loves Vicki very much and spends lots of weekends with her.

Are you wondering why I am showing his picture and telling you all this, have you not noticed he has lost his two front teeth. Don't you think that is was nice of him to let us see this picture.. Thanks Micah, Mary and Dad love you & your Aunt Vicki.

This visit that I make to Sara's Dog Training each morning is becomming so interesting. You are missing a lot if you do not go. So interestig to watch Sara train Oreo & Misty. I check in on them yesterday and I am so glad that they are having a wonderful time on their vacation. DAD.

Reader Question: Tomato Plants Dying

Nicole writes:

” I NEED HELP!! I went out to my garden this morning everything was fine. Came home from work and my tomato plants took a turn for the worst. Almost every leaf on the plant turned yellow/brown with dark black spots. I had to cut them all off according to the internet. Some of the tomatoes had dark brown spots on them. There was also some mushrooms growing beneath the plant.
Connecticut has been having alot of rain and humidity this week. Also there is a tomato fungus in six of our counties. Does anyone know what type of fungus this is and what I can do to treat my plants? I had 9 plants that were producing beatiful tomatoes…I was so excited. I don’t think they are going to survive. : ( “
.

Hi Nicole. I am so sorry to hear that all of your tomatoes are having problems.
First, the fungus you are referring to is late blight (Phytophthora infestans). It’s really hit hard in the Northeast this year. Part of the problem is the weather conditions you described - rainy.
