TUESDAYS ENTRY # TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED

" Live for others every day, 'tis the true the better way"

Malachi 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
.
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God ..
.
One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says:

He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time..
The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'
He smiled at her and answered,

" Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it."
.
If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Good Morning.

This above is very good, it was sent to me by a friend J. M, I do not know the author but I do want to say thank you to some one. DAD.

This below is a very interesting story, take the time to read it. It was sent to me by my friend John C. I do not know the author but Thanks to some one.

DAD
.
A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business. Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together. He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you." The young executives were Shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one of you a SEED today - one very special SEED. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO."One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed.He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have a plant and he felt like a failure.Six months went by -- still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however, he just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - He so wanted the seed to grow.A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection.Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful -- in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him! When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives.Jim just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees and flowers you have grown," said the CEO. "Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!"All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!" When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed - Jim told him the story. The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, "Behold your next Chief Executive Officer! His name is Jim!" Jim couldn't believe it. Jim couldn't even grow his seed."How could he be the new CEO?" the others said. Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow. All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer!"*

..
If you plant honesty, you will reap trust * If you plant goodness, you will reap friends* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment* If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective* If you plant hard work, you will reap success* If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliations, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later.
.
Think about this for a minute....
If I happened to show up on your door step crying, would you care? If I called you and asked you to pick me up because something happened, would you come? If I had one day left to live my life, would you be part of that last day?
If I needed a shoulder to cry on, would you give me yours? This is a test to see who your real friends are or if you are just someone to talk to you when they are bored.

.
Do you know what the relationship is between your two eyes? They blink together,
they move together, they cry together,
they see things together,
and they sleep together, but they never see each other;
....that's what friendship is..

.
Your aspiration is your motivation, your
motivation is your belief,
your belief is your peace,
your peace is your target,
your target is heaven, and life is like hard core torture without it! It's 'World Best Friends Week' Who is your best friend? Send this to all your good friends, even me, if I am one of them. See how many you get back. If you get more than 3 then you really are a lovable person...
Save the Earth.... it's the only planet with chocolate!!!!

.
I am sure that you have noticed that all of the usual links are not in this Saturday journal, you can find most of them in the side panel, Dad.
.
Since this is Saturday I should have quit a long time ago, to late now. I hope to see you early Monday morning.

THURSDAYS ENTRY # TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINETY SIX

" Time is so precious- do not waste it."
.
"O Lord, Thy sea is so great and my boat is so small."
.

Here is a short poem that I want to use first this morning.
.
These Things Are Free.

In gloomy tones we need not cry, "How many things there are to buy."
.
Here is a thought for you and me, " The best of things in life are free."
.
The air the sunshine and the sea. All gladness beauty, These are free.
.
Our faithful friendships, sympathy. The joy of living, These are free.
.
All loving service, loyalty, Our God's protection, These are free.
.
The more we look the more we see.How many precious things are free.
.
The heart will find more than the eye. Of things we do not have to buy.
.
Let's stop and think, let's know and feel. That things like these are truly real.
.
Yes, think how very rich are we. When all the best of things are free.

How are you feeling on this thursday morning ? It is still a little cool 22 degrees this morning, some snow is predicted, there is plenty on the ground, you can check on any of the 3 Cams. I am feeling very good this morning, I beleive that I can say that my mood is HAPPY, not for any particular reason, just glad to be alive. A few things have not gone as I would have liked but I am happy with what did turn out alright. Some one said " If at first you don't succeed, you are running about normal." So maybe I am not doing to bad. I am just going to hang in there and enjoy life to the fullest. Dad.

TUESDAYS ENTRY # TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINE FOUR

" Life is so short-do not waste any of it"

"O Lord, Thy sea is so great and my boat is so small."
.

Good Morning.
.
We made it through Monday but it was a rough one, it began snowing here early in the morning and snow fell most of the morning, and it was cold 18 degrees I believe. I am sure that you know what I have done this whole day, stayed right here in my office and drank coffee and had a few naps; and I had Mary and Prince helping me. I have not seen our weather for today yet, we will make plans for the day after that.
.
.
Now why don't you tell me about your experience
thought the snow storm white6416e@aol.com is my address. I would be glad to hear from you this morning.

All that I am going to say here this morning is that if you need a SMILE click Sara's Dog Training blog and you will have it. I do it every morning and I am pleased. DAD
.
This below is almost too long to use in a journal, but since we have this bad weather nothing is coming in to write about, and you know that you can stop any time by using the back up button at the top of page to the left, Dad.

Here it is below I think that it is good, it brings back some sweet memories to me, I was born in 1913. DAD
...
No matter what our kids and the new generation think about us,
WE ARE AWESOME !!! OUR LIFE IS LIVING PROOF !!! To Those of Us Born 1925 - 1970 :

..
At the end of this e-mail is a quote of the month by Jay Leno. If you don't read anything else, please read what he said. Very well stated, Mr. Leno.
..
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930s, '40s, '50s, '60s and '70s!!
..
First, we survived being born to mothers who may have smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then, after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets, and, when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps, not helmets, on our heads.
..
As infants and children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes. Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter, and bacon.
..
We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And we weren't overweight. WHY? Because we were always outside playing...that's why! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. --And, we were OKAY. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes.. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Play Stations, Nintendos and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVDs, no surround-sound or CDs, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms.. WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from those accidents. We would get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping-pong paddles, or just a bare hand, and no one would call child services to report abuse. We ate worms, and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls, and -although we were told it would happen- we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment.. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers, and inventors ever. The past 50 to 85 years have seen an explosion of innovation and new ideas.. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. If YOU are one of those born between 1925-1970, CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had to grow up as kids before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good. While you are at it, forward it to your kids, so they will know how brave and fortunate their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it ? The quote of the month by Jay Leno:
..
"With hurricanes, tornadoes, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"
,,
For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us....go ahead and delete this. For the rest of us.....pass this on.
.This was sent to me by a friend, I do not know the author, but I wish that I did so I could ask their permission to use DAD.
