Good Morning.

Mary gave me this a few days ago http://people.howstuffworks.com/swanson-dinner.htm and it sure did bring back some pleasant memories, because I had a littl part in this business, I personaly knew the two Swanson brothers and they visitied me one time. This was in 1953. I think that the first product was a chicken pie, and soon they added turkey pie, beef pie and then a complete dinner. my brother Howard and I were in business and we sold the first frozen chicken pie ever sold in Knoxville. This was something new and it a good sales person to sell them, but we got the job done. DAD.

This is a beautiful day here at Dad's Wildlife Habitat, bright sun and here the tempeature is 51 degrees. I am feeling good today, a Happy mood and not one thing to complain about. DAD.

Today is the day that Mary goes to Vanderbelt in Nashville,My son Jim and his wife Beverly are taking her , They are making it a one day trip, they will be back early this evening. I am not going, Prince and I will be here having a restful day.

The Weather comes next, all tomatoe growers like to keep up with the prediction, it means a lot to their progress.

This time of the year I think a lot about tomatoes, hoping that I can help some one so I look atDad's Tomato Garden Web Page often and I hope that you are doing the same. DAD.

TWO DAYS. first day.

There scarce seemed time that morn to pray
With so much work that I must do,
So with just a pause at the throne of Grace
A prayer I hurried through.
But Oh! What a wearisome day it was
How heavy my heart and my feet,
So lonely without the presence of God-
His fellowship so sweet.

I came to the close of the weary day
To think of the end of it all,
How much would be mine of what I had gained
When I would hear death's call.
For all that I will claim as my own in that hour

I've heard Him speak to me.

SECOND DAY

A new day dawned and a hope with it came-
The hope of beginning again.
I sought His face and He heard my cry,
My pathway He made plain.
He touched my heart and spoke afresh to me
Of His Fatherly love and care,
Gave a vision again of things worthwhile
That could be mine to share.

There was just as much work to be done that day-
I was glad for a chance to rest.
The evening came and it's sinking sun
Was hidden in the west.
But I'd walked that day with a lighter step
From a burden of care set free,
A song in my heart of a Father's love

It is time for me to visit Sara and Oreo, I never miss a chance to go to Sara's Dog Training blog and get a glimpse of Oreo's big smile. It brings a smile to my old wrinkled face. Dad.

TUESDAYS ENTRY TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED THIRTY TWO

Good Morning.

Since the weather is the most important subject to us tomato growers I am going to give it to you first this morning, and also I am going to try and settle down more and talk more about Tomatoes and Smiles the two things that I am interested in producing, and stop some of the foolish things that I may have been doing.

Weather

Today.. 2/22/11.
Partly cloudy. High 12C. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Partly cloudy skies. High 54F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

When I think of producing tomatoes I always think of this link Dad's Tomato Garden Web Page I have read it hundreds of times, You will find so much helpful things there from day one until you are smiling with a big juicy tomato in your hand, DAD .


"Fruiting crops, including tomatoes, need full sun most of the day for good production of quality fruit. Good drainage is also important. In high to medium rainfall areas (more than 30 inches per year) work the soil into ridges and plant on the ridge or build raised beds 12 to 18 inches deep. Plan on setting out at least one cherry tomato and 4 to 6 large-fruited varieties depending on the number of fresh tomato lovers in your family. You'll need stakes or wire tomato cages to support the plants to keep the fruit off the ground where it would rot. To insure even and efficient watering, you will want to put in a drip or soaker hose system for watering. Finally, count on mulch to keep down the weeds."

I want to mention something about my side panel that is always on the right side of the journal. I will have listed there all of the links that I usually mention in the body of the journal, under consideration is for me to produce you an up up date side panel and you can go there and choose what and who you want to read. I spend some time trying to guess which links to show and I may not choose the right one.

At the present the list begins with American Profile Magazine and ends with the weather, this would be increased greatly. And it would affect all of you that are mentioned in it, it sure would save old Dad a lot of work. Remember this is only under consideration, any thoughts would be welcomed. DAD.

There are two things that I have not mentioned yet this morning, so I am doing it now. I do need as always to look in on Oreo at Sara's Dog Training blog and Sara always helps me, I get a smile.

The other is that Sumtra x bold Starbucks coffee, the coffee is ready also hot tea, stop in and visit me. Dad

I don't think that the statement up above is exactly right, I can not remember when I have had to cry alone there has always been a dear friend to help me cry, DAD

Good Morning.

I do have one thing to tell you about my Wildlife Habitat, we have two Bird Baths in operation, they may be seen on Cam.# 2 and Cam. # 3. It is getting warm here in East Tennessee and I believe that the birds will be glad to have them, if not I am glad, I can sit for hours watching them, a good time to meditate, DAD.


"As we parked the car today along the water front in Bradenton I saw this beautiful huge white pelican. Though I did not take this photo it was taken in approximately the same area by Enrique Pino and it may even be the same white pelican. They come from Canada for January thru March. Unlike the brown pelicans, these larger birds do not diving from the air for fish, they sat on top of the water and grab them."
