Our weather was very nice on Monday, a high of 65, and lots of that good Sunshine, I can see that one day has done a lot for those tomatoes. Today Tuesday we are starting off with another cool morning 38, and we are promised sunshine for several days. Makes me smile ?

In the question ask above, in the answer Brandy Wine tomatoes are mentioned, It just happens that I have four beautiful Brandy Wine plants in my garden. And you will be able to see them on the Cam soon. We think that they are the best tomato when it comes to flavor.

A Very Blessed Tomato Plant

How do you grow an 18-foot tomato plant?
Would you believe the answer just might be prayer?
Thrien Evans, 50, says that the oversized tomato plant outside his window begins to sway when he says his nightly prayers in its direction. He asks, of course, for “the Lord to keep it green.”
But it’s not prayer alone that has made this tomato plant so spectacular. Enter 90-year-old Ojetta Azalee Parker Smith, who shares the Georgetown, South Carolina garden space with Evans. In addition to tomatoes, the two also grow eggplant, cabbage, and collard greens.From the outside they may seem an odd pair to tend a garden together, but the story behind their relationship is rather sweet (like the sugar cane they grow). Smith had been a caretaker for members of Evans’ family for many years; as Smith got older, Evans realized that “[a] woman at her age shouldn’t live alone.”
Evans brought over the now monstrous tomato plant in June when it was a mere six inches high with the stipulation that Smith harvest it.
And it’s still bearing fruit in November.
Whatever they’re doing, it’s certainly working.

This must stop, I have a doctors appointment very early this morning, and I need to get ready for that. It's nothing wrong that I know about, but it's just like an old car that has a lot of mileage on it, it need to be checked over pretty often.

I like to see a good Monday morning, how about you. I am sure that we all had a good weekend. The rest that we had will be a help to us today.

So we need to get our tea or coffee, it is ready early this morning, and then, get out there and face the world. I know that we can do it, we have done it before. So don't you worry so much today, if it is possible smile, that will help you and the one that receives it.
.
I am looking for a lot of sun today. Sunday was another wet day. It rained most of the day, and the report was that 1.39 inches fell. We do need a lot of sun soon. The weeds have began to show up and we are not able to do any thing in that wet ground. I hate weeds.
.

.The picture above makes me smile. This is what we are beginning to see in Dad's Tomato Garden. Lots of beautiful blooms. And we know that means red ripe tomatoes in the near future. This picture was taken on May 17th. Weather permiting we are going to have another good crop in this year, 2009. Check it out see what has happened so far . .I visited the Eagle Web Cam several times yesterday but I did not find them at home but one time. They did look and act happy. I do hope that you will be able to see them this morning. Dad.

We are seeing a little cooler weather today and in the morning. Right now at 3 A.M. it is 47. The high for today will only be in the mid 60s. But one thing that is encouraging is that it says, plenty of sunshine. Maybe that will dry out my garden.

We had a nice day on Friday, warm and sunny most of the day. But around 6 P.M. we did have a heavy thunder Storm. Lots of rain, high wind and thunder.
It is looking a little bettter here on Saturday, our tempeature at 3 A.M. is 65 and maybe a little sun today.

I visited the Eagle Web Cam several times yesterday but I did not find them at home but one time. They did look and act happy. I do hope that you will be able to see them over the week end.

We have not seen Glen in Australia in a few weeks, this long wekend would be a good time to visit with him. He has lots to show and tell you. If you will tell him that Dad sent you I am sure that he will let you in.

Thursday was another beatiful day, plenty of sun and no rain again.the high was 78. It was a beatiful day to work in the garden and that is what I did, I got all of the cages in and more mulch around the tomato plants, now I will be able to sleep better.

The weathr is still looking good for the tomatoes, this Friday morning at 3 A.M. the tempeature is 64, with an expected high of 78, and we are going to have some sun today. Smile.

How are you feeling on this nice Wednesday morning ? We should be feeling good, our weather has been perfect here at Dad's Tomato Garden, no rain again on Tuesday and the temperature went to 74, I hope that keeps up for a few days.

This morning we are starting out with a 57 , and near 80 for the day. I think we can make it with that kind of weather.

A good hot cup of tea or coffee would be nice right now, and you know what I have it ready, so sit right down relax and enjoy this little visit that we have each morning. I hope that you will be smiling.

I do have some good news, the Eagle Cam is back, and I am glad to see it. We need to go up to Eagle Web Cam this morning when it gets daylight and see how they are getting along. I checked on them last night and it looked like that they had grown a lot.

I've learned that keeping a Tomato garden is worth a medicine cabinet full of pills.

Are you ready for Tuesday morning, if not you had better rush just a little, I don't like to ask anyone to rush, I like to get up early and then sit here all relaxed and get myself ready for a busy day, maybe a cup of Starbucks sitting here next to me. To me , the way we begin our day is very important, who and what do we think about when we first open our eyes in the morning ?

N0tice the bird box in the lower left corner of this picture taken by our Cam # 1. There are at least 3 and maybe 4 baby Eastern Blue Birds in that box, and it won't be long untill they are ready to fly. When they do come out they always stay around the tomato garden, we see them all during the year.

Canada Goose at a lake near our home. The lake that they are in is one that we pass almost daily, and always enjoying seeing the Canada Geese.

.And now about our weather, Monday was the first day in a long time that we did not hav any rain here at Dad's garden. And we did have a little sun, I hpoe that this Tuesday will be sunny. The tempeature here at Dad's garden at 3:00 a.m. is 52. And our report looks good for today, listen to this, plenty of sunshine and a highh if 78. That makes me smile.

I saw the first Humming bird yesterday afternoon at a feeder right out my office window, it is a little early for them to come here, I hope that they will continue to come, I do like too watch them.

.The cam to the Eagles Eagle Web Cam has been out of order for several days now. They hope to have it back in service soon.

So you see that Dad is not the only one that has trouble with Cams, the two that I have showing the tomatoe garden do require a lot of maintence to keep them working, but we feel that it is worth it and we plan to continue.
