Here below is a little news about the eagles. Dad.

One of the juvenile eagles continues to stay relatively close to home. Azalea (band HH) is still spending her time in and around the area of the Norfolk Botanical Garden. She can still be seen on camera, perching in the nest area. As of yesterday she was still being fed in the nest by the adults.
She is widening the area over which she wanders and is spending her nights in various trees in the "brush dump" area of the Garden as can be seen on her EagleTrak page. Once Azalea begins to wander over a wider area, her transmitter will begin to record increasingly valuable data in regards to juveline dispersal and important habitat for eagles. Neither of Azalea's siblings HK and HE, have been seen since July 27th and both appear to have dispersed.

I am proud to have a sign on my lawn saying that my property is certified as a WILDLIFE HABITAT. I love birds and all other wildlife. And I hope that I can do a good job of keeping them in feed, water, nesting boxes and a place to rest in the large trees that are near the tomato garden, You may see just a little of what I am trying to do on DAD'S OUTDOOR WEB CAM # 2 . After these tomato vines are removed there will be some changes made.DAD.

Here is my thought for this Friday morning.

I don't want to miss Oreo and Misty this morning. I like to check on them each morning and see how they are doing. Sara you do an execlent job. Here are my two little thoughts. They are from a Dog.

" Never pretend to be something you're not."

" If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it."

I think that is very good advice. Dogs are smarter than most people give them credit for. DAD.



Above is a short video that I took yesterday. You can see by this that I don't have much to do in the tomato patch. My time might have been better spent taking one of those naps that I like and need so much. DAD

Why don't we go look at Sara's Shelties this morning? Come on Mary and go with me this morning Oreo and Misty are not hard to find, just stop where you see this sign. Sara's Dog Training Mary you will be glad that you came . Dad.

Hi Marilyn! Green tomato relish sounds interesting. I’ve been meaning to try fried green tomatoes myself, and now perhaps some relish too.
I don’t know of any specific growers or distributors who sell green tomatoes, but I do have some ideas for you. These could possibly work for any area, too, for anyone else looking for green tomatoes.
1. I know you’re in an area with a lot of farms (I have relatives that live there). I would suggest calling some of them and ask what they do with the green tomatoes that are left over after the main harvests.

When I Read the interesting article below I Immediately thought of those two beautiful Shelties and you know who they are Oreo and Misty. They belong to Sara who you can always find at Sara's Dog Training and Sara that video of Oreo jumping through the hoop was so good. This article below is for you Sara. DAD.

A Dog's Purpose? (from a 6-year-old)

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker 's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.?

Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, ''I know why.''

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation. It has changed the way I try and live.

He said, ''People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life --- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?''

The six-year-old continued, ''Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'' Remember….

Live simply.

Love generously.

Care deeply.

Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!

Well we made it through Monday now let's try Tuesday.. If we get a good start by doing what is said right up above I know that we will make it.

And you know that a little Starbucks or some hot tea might be of a little help right now. It is ready and waiting. DAD.

I don't usually post jokes like this one below, but I enjoyed it so much that I wanted you to see it and laugh with me.

A little boy was waiting for his mother to come out of the grocery store.

As he waited, he was approached by a man who asked, "Son, can you tell me where the Post Office is?"

The little boy replied, "Sure! Just go straight down this street a coupla blocks and turn to your right."

The man thanked the boy kindly and said, "I'm the new pastor in town. I'd like for you to come to church on Sunday. I'll show you how to get to Heaven."

The little boy replied with a chuckle,
"Awww, come on ... you don't even know the way to the Post Office."

Our weather is still very good. The rain has at least slowed down. Here is what AOL says about it for this Tuesday morning. 8/04/09.

Becoming partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms developing during the afternoon. High around 90F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 30%.

Its time to go to Sara's house and look a Oreo and Misty. Here is the way to get there and I know that you will get a welcome. Sara's Dog Training. I hope that you saw the Video that she and Jeff made I beleive it was yesterday. Notice how Oreo keeps looking back to see if Sara is still there. You can tell that he lovs her.

Here is my thought for toay.

God is the only one that can help us. Oh I need his help so much. I would like to watch my tongue more and try to be a good listener. this if from James 3rd chapter and verse 8. DAD

EIGHTEEN HUNDRED & THREE

Good Morning.

Do not forget yes this is Saturday morning and I am happy that it is. I can even smile this morning and I have not been doing much of that the last few days. Just thinking of Sunday and all the good things that are comming up for us to enjoy tomorrow makes you happy and does give us hope for the comming week.

The month of August is here and we will soon be looking for the beautiful leaves. The fall months are beautiful but thy are not my favorite, I love the spring month. It is a great joy to me to see the new growth in any direction that we look . In the fall every thing is dieing and it makes me sad. Dad.

I have not mentioned this lately so I do want to do so now. See below.

I do not at the present time sell anything on my blog. The products and services that I sometime mention are things that I like and have tried some of them for myself. And what I am doing is passing these things on to you my friends. My only charge for this is a smile from you.

If the time should ever come( At the moment I do not think that it will ever happen ) when I would need to be selling something I will let you know. We never know what the future holds for us. DAD .

As you know I do not write a journal on Sunday morning. But I hope if you are here and need anything that you will remember to use my side panel.

I am going to take the time to look at Sara's Dog Training this morning. I Love those Shelties, have you huged your dog today ? Dont you think that they are lucky having Sara as their trainer. Dad.

There are five members of my family that write blogs, and I am so proud of all of them for that. I am going to tell you about one of them that you should look at today. This is Karen, she lives in Memphis and writes BrushStrokes .You will enjoy this. Dad.

And somethimg else that I looking for to in the future is my other two great grand children starting a blog, Kara and Zachary. They would be good at it. Come on great grand children, don't dissipoint your old great grand Pa.
