Some Thoughts from Dad

Good Morning,
“ Be true today, let not thy soul be filled with anxious fears, be true today fret not or sorrow, thy cares upon the Saviour  roll “
I hope that all my friends all around this world are in a happy mood, we should be happy just for the fact that we are still in the land of the living, but much more.
A weekend causes me to think of Relaxing and getting prepared to face the coming week, we will be facing many trials and tests, the old devil will be presenting  to us, we must say to him NO.
Our Meeting will be at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, Mary and I will be there, and then a lite lunch in Dads kitchen afterwards a few naps with Prince.
I have already told you lots about  our visit with Sherry and Dr. Hall and the wonderful time that we had, but I forgot to tell you what they gave me, when we left, this below is the hood that I wore in all the oxygen treatments that I had there.


This will always bring memories of all the help that I have receive there, I feel like I am a walking example of  what the Oxygen treatment can do for you.
I will be able to have my usual Tomato Garden of 50 plants.

Are you in a Happy mood this Tuesday morning, I have so much to be HAPPY for . One of them is that God in his tender mercy has spare my life to see the light of another day.

I know that is is early 2:17 a.m. eastern time, anyway I am in need of some of that Sumatra x bold coffee, it is ready and as always I wish that you could be here with me enjoying it together and talking about all the good things that have come our way. I have several of you, including , Joan and her sister Betty and many, many others that I Don’t have time or space to mention ( you know who you are, write and tell me.) that have enjoyed coffee with me for several years. Dad.

DADS THURSDAYS ENTRY TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED NINETY

Good Morning. ....
I have had a wonderful nights sleep an I feel like I am ready to face the conflict. I still need a little time to read and meditate as I have a cup of good hot Sumatra x bold coffee, I made it at an early, I do wish that it were possible for us to live closer together , we would have a wonderful time around the coffee pot, encouraging one another to keep pushing on to the end of our journey
I am in a Happy mood this morning, for a change every thing seems to be going as planned, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. Jim and Beverly are supposed to spend Friday with us Jim will be working on one of our computers . I am lucky to have three experts in my family to keep me going Mary, Jim and Beverly and I even know how to turn this Del on, right over to the right at the bottom.
I am almost a shame to tell you the tine but I will it is now 1:52 a.m. and don’t feel sorry for me, I am enjoying this and as I said up above I am in a Happy Mood, I am sorry that I cant show you this on Cam. 1 right now, I am doing a little work on it , it will be ready t a decent hour this morning, check it out you may see Dad drinking Coffee or sleeping. Prince may pass in front of the camera every few minuets.

I should be doing more of the things that I LOVE to do best and that is helping you produce one of the Best Home Grown Tomato in your little garden, if you have just one plant I am as interested in you as if you had one thousand, so please call on me and I and the experts will do our best to help.

And the charges are reasonable , free to you, not even any sale tax, all I want from you is a big smile, and maybe a picture from you to use on this blog , pictures of growing tomatoes and the ripe fruit. Lets have some fun, and enjoy getting our hands dirty, it’s a good feeling.

I will be showing you pictures of our 50 plants when we get the plants in the ground, see them growing from plants to red ripe tomatoes, Mary will be using her traveling  Cam. # 1 to show you this.

I must tell Sherry that we will not see you until after the New Year 2012, but we will be stopping in soon. Dad

Good Moring.
Yes I am in a Happy Mood this morning, things had not gone so very well yesterday morning but they changed in the early evening, one of our friends that we had not been able to locate for about two weeks, Mary finally found her on her home phone, then we had a little better sleep. We appreciate  all of our readers, and when we think that they me be in trouble we get busy and try to help. Vicki we are so happy to find you safe and sound.

How are you feeling in your part  of this world, are you setting out Tomatoes yet ? I am not yet , they just will not grow in two feet of snow, but just give me a little time and I will give you a run for your money, I will be sure that you get a picture of my first ripe tomatoes.

Begin the day with a Happy mood, and you will enjoy the day much better the most beautiful things around, remember that we only go this way once. DAD
Good morning.
I am going to do what it says because I do want to have a good day and week, there is lots to do and I have scarce begun,
I hope that all of you are feeling good an able to face a new day  and get a fresh new sheet from our Heavenly Father, not one spot on it, do be careful with it.
Would you share a cup of  Starbucks x bold with me ? I think that it might clear your mind, and you could at least see your way to work.
We will be going to the Oxygen treatment this morning, I am suppose to get these until Thursday week and hopefully a new pair of shoes and a chance to produce Tomatoes, Roses and Smiles. I am so anxious to get my hands dirty.
Now Sherry you be listing for my call, and tell all the crew to be smiling when they come to the parking lot to bring me in getting me ready for the Oxygen Treatment. I enjoy that and am anxious to get in there this morning. DAD

The picture above is of the ones that were at our Thanksgiving day dinner at Jim and Beverly. We had a good time, I was tired after the long day, but I did enjoy myself. I may not be able to give you very much early this morning, but you

Good Morning.

How are you feeling this Friday morning ? I hope to hear you say fine, and I think that you are. We all are as usual looking, for the rest and relaxing in the days that we will be home. Even though Mary and I were not at home yesterday, I received a lot of comments which we do appreciate, So many appreciated the poem about the old people. A lot of my comments come to me in an email and you do not see them, I am sorry, I wish that you could. Any way I do want to thank all our world wide friends who have been so kind and helpful to us through the years. Dad.

I don't have to tell you that we are back home from Nashville safe and sound, you wouldn't be reading this if I was still in Nashville. We arrived at home at 8 P.M. and there was one happy Prince waiting for us. All went well at Vanderbilt. We do appreciate those doctors down there and trust them.
.

Friday, Nov. 12:00, 2 p.m.

Dear Friends, Some of you have been asking about my appointment at Vanderbilt. Thank you for your care.

Jim and Beverly took us (Nov. 11th) and we appreciated that very much.We had a good trip to Vanderbilt. The Dr. is a Specialist in Parkinson's Disease. He and two other Doctors gave me a very intensive Neurological Exam. The illness is progressing, but they made some changes in my medications and added two more. The Dr. said, "Remember that PD is a progressive disease. There is no slowing down of that progression. but we can treat the symptoms" somewhat. The Dr. mentioned that surgery (Deep Brain Stimulation) is an option. I'm not keen on that but it is an option somewhere down the line.

We are having so much nice fall weather here in East Tennessee and I am enjoying it to the fullest. It has given me some time to do a little more work on my Wildlife Habitat, and I think that the birds are enjoying it. There is a little extra work in having a Habitat, but it is worth it, Why don't you try one for yourself ?

Time is swiftly passing, it is hard to realize that October is here, Cold weather is on the way. I think that I can enjoy the winter months.

I am beginning this new month with another HAPPY mood, and I hoping that it will last until this day is done.

I spent most of the day yesterday getting my Wildlife Habitat ready for the cold weather. Such things as bird baths, feeders and my three outside cams. we have the cams in holders that keep them cool in summer and warm in winter. Dad.

We all are proud of Oreo that very beautiful and talented sheltie who belongs to Sara, after I get this Sumatra x bold coffee in the pot we will go by Sara's Dog Training blog and see them. I think that Misty and Oreo will like the snow when it arrives.

A youn girl and I made our decision to serve God in the same year when we were 14 years old, and this was her first words in our first sunday morning meeting. It realy touched my heart and does me good to think of it each day. Dad

I have the Starbucks coffee ready and it is the Bold X and I also have tea ready, I wish that you lived close to me so you reall could stop and talk to me.

TUESDAYS ENTRY # TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED THIRTY NINE

I am starting this blog in the way that I did in my first days. trying to find out about you first in the morning. Some how I have gotten away from the way I began my blog over 7 years ago.

Back in those days I was asking you first such questions as " How are you feeling this morning?" " Did you sleep well ?" and you know that the many things that I was asking you about your coffee, work and other things. And especially trying to keep you smiling and not worry so much about the day.

But something changed over the years, I began to realize that the first thing that I was talking about an old man who calls hinself Dad. Now that is going to stop you are going to come first. This is your blog and I want it to be helpful and interesting, if any think need changing in this today, let me know. Dad.

In the video above I am trying to tell you a little about the way that I get my tomatoes going but I did a bad job. What I am trying to say is that I start most of my plants inside in these large pots and then when they are the size of the one that I am showing you in the video I get them in the ground outside. It has worked good for me for a few year. DAD

I have enjoyed my WILDLIFE HABITAT so much the last few days. It has become so interesting watching the birds, squirels, and other animals that visit me. They seem to appreciate the bird baths more than the food, I have saw several taking baths yesterday afternoon. If you do not have a Habitat I would recommend that you make one. There is of course a little extra work to it, but it is worth the labor and feed cost.. Dad.

Good Morning.


. I wish that you could be here and watch this tree come down. This same man took another tree down last year. He is good and I enjoy watching Mike work. Mary and I are going to try to get this on our new # 3 Cam. DAD.

Our third outside Cam that I have been telling you about is installed and can be viewed. It is completed all but the audio (Yes you will be able to hear as well as see on this cam.)

A little while ago, we talked about freezing raw tomatoes, and here are some more preservation ideas to make the most of your tomato crop:
Freezing tomato juice.
After washing and trimming the stem ends from the tomatoes, cut into quarters or eighths. Simmer on the stove for about 5-10 minutes, then take off the heat and let sit for about an hour.
When they’re sufficiently cool to work with, press the pieces through a sieve or grinder so that you are separating the juice from the seeds and skin, which you can discard.
Pour into bags or containers, being sure to measure first so you know how much to defrost. Seal, label, and freeze.
You can also put the juice in ice cube trays for uniform serving sizes.
Freezing stewed tomatoes.
Wash, cut off the stem ends, and peel tomatoes, then put in pan and simmer for 10-20 minutes, covered. When finished, put pan in ice water to cool, then transfer tomatoes into storage containers, leaving about an inch at the top.
Seal, label, and freeze.

One of my thoughts was " Many years of life are wasted living for thyself alone." and I am afraid that I have wasted a lot of years. I am going to try to do better with the little time that I have left. I hope that I can see you in the morning.
