ENTRY # SEVENTEEN HUNDRED & FOUR.

Good Morning.

( Here at 2:10 p/m the Eagles are interesting, Don't miss them. DAD )
.
Time is so precious-do not waste it.
.
Many years of life are wasted, living for thyself alone."
.

What would you say if I told you that the tea and coffeec was ready and that I was offering to pour you a cup. On this cold morning I am sure that you would smile. Well it is ready so sit down right here beside me, and visit with me for a little while. The tempeature here at Dad's Tomato Garden is 34 at 3 A.M. We have a promise of warmer weather by tomorrow, and that sounds good to me. Dad.
.
We should check on the eagles and see how they made it through the cold night. You can go up to their nest by clicking on
Eagle Web Cam I have been a little worried about them , I did now see daddy eagle all day yesterday. we are hoping that all is well with him and that he will soon return
I have checked with Helen and I hope to hear from her soon.

.
( This below from Helen, makes me feel better, thanks Helen.)
.

Hi Dad, I saw both of them at the nest tuesday evening. Thank the Good Lord. Neither one on the stayed on the nest much this morning when it was cold but they are taking turns this evening. I saw them switch over.
Have a good night.
Helen

.
This story below is a lot longer than I usualy use, but it is so good that I just had to let you read it. We are not sure of the author, someone sent it to Jim and he is letting me use it, We both would like to give credit to you whoever your are, DAD.

.
I'm A Little Tea Cup....
.
Love this story or not, you will not be able to have tea in a tea cup again without thinking of this.
There was a couple who took a trip to England to shop in a beautiful antique store to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They both liked antiques and pottery, and especially teacups. Spotting an exceptional cup, they asked "May we see that? We've never seen a cup quite so beautiful."

.
As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke, "You don't understand. I have not always been a teacup. There was a time when I was just a lump of red clay. My master took me and rolled me pounded and patted me over and over and I yelled out, "Don't do that! I don't like it! Let me alone." but he only smiled, and gently said; "Not yet!"

.
Then WHAM! I was placed on a spinning wheel and suddenly I was made to suit himself and then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I yelled and knocked and pounded at the door. "Help! Get me out of here!" I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head from side to side, “Not yet”.

.
When I thought I couldn't bear it another minute, the door opened. He carefully took me out and put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. Oh, that felt so good! "Ah, this is much better," I thought. But, after I cooled he picked me up and he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. I thought I would gag. “Oh, please, Stop it. Stop.” I cried. He only shook his head and said. “Not yet!”

..
Then suddenly he puts me back in to the oven. Only it was not like the first one. This was twice as hot and I just knew I would suffocate. I begged.. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried I was convinced I would never make it. I was ready to give up. Just then the door opened and he took me out and again placed me on the shelf, where I cooled and waited and waited, wondering "What's he going to do to me next?"

.
An hour later he handed me a mirror and said “Look at yourself.” And I did. I said, “That's not me; that couldn't be me. It's beautiful. I'm beautiful!!!”

.
Quietly he spoke: "I want you to remember, then,” he said, “I know it h urt to be rolled and pounded and patted, but had I just left you alone, you'd have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I know it hurt and it was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened.. You would not have had any color in your life. If I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't have survived for long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. Now you are what I had in mind when I first began with you."

.
The moral of this story is this: God knows what He's doing for each of us. He is the potter, and we are His clay. He will mold us and make us and expose us to just enough pressures of just the right kinds that we may be made into a flawless piece of work to fulfill His good, pleasing and perfect will.

.
So when life seems hard, and you are being pounded and patted and pushed almost beyond endurance; when your world seems to be spinning out of control; when you feel like you are in a fiery furnace of trials; when life seems to "stink," try this.

.
Brew a cup of your favorite tea in your prettiest tea cup, sit down and think on this story and then, have a little talk with the Potter.

.

This is getting so long that I am ashamed of myself. would it be asking too much to ask you if you would use the side panel to day for a lot of things that I did not get here. I promise you that I will not do this again
.
I do hope to see you early in the morning if all is well. We all are going to do our best today to be kind to all we meet today, and give them a big SMILE.

I know some ladies who are having a Bible study/ Tea Party. I will be sure they get a copy of your story. You should not apologize for the length when the breadth is so worthwhile. I hope your week is good to you.

DAD, IT REALLY IS A COMFORT TO HAVE A FAVORITE CUP.
I HAVE A FOND MEMORY THAT WOULD SEEM FOOLISH TO SOME. CAN REMEMBER CARRYING IN A POCKET OF MY 'OVERHALLS' WHEN A VERY YOUNG BOY, A SMALL PIECE OF A BROKEN CUP, WHITE AND SMOOTH AND SHINEY, FEELING OF MY TREASURE WITH HAND IN POCKET AND OCCASIONALLY PULLING IT OUT OF MY POCKET TO ADMIRE THE BEAUTY OF A FRAGMENT WHICH HAD ONCE WENT THROUGH THE EXPERIENCES OF THE CUP IN DAD'S BLOG TODAY.
THANKS DAD, YOU ARE A GOOD MAN. sam

Dad, thanks for the coffee this morning, it was what I needed to get started on my day.
Cold in PA also but at least the sun is out.
Liked the Tea Cup Story. I managed to copy it for my kids.
Will have to try the upside tomato plant thing. Haven't seen any around here yet.
I am afraid that my squirrels will get to it.

Saw the Eagle, at 1:30 PM EDT, feeding two cute Eaglelets. That was neat to see. When I went to Alaska all I ever saw was an Eagle with a broken wing. This was a treat, Thanks and Happy, Holy Easter to you and Mary.

Such a beautiful story, Dad! You always share the best ones with us, and I think we all love reading them! Baby eagles are being fed right now, and I saw both parents last night, too, so I'm pretty sure all is well with them. Your WebCams won't let me see them today, but hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to. Sounds like we're weather twins again -- we need the rain so much! Love and hugs to you both from Jamaka and fams
