DADS MONDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE

Good Monday morning.

Today

Periods of heavy rain. High 23C. Winds NNE at 10 to 15 mph. Rainfall around 50mm.

Cloudy with periods of rain, some heavy early. High around 75F. Winds NNE at 10 to 15 mph. Rainfall possibly over two inches

Here is an appropriate poem for this rainy week, by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow: Thanks Joan, that fits right in our day. DAD

RAINY DAY

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the moldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.
My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the moldering Past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast
And the days are dark and dreary.
Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

I usually call these Monday mornings the best morning of the week for me, but not this one, the first thing is it is a holiday-Labor Day, and things are going to be very quite around. I get lonesome . and the weather that you see above, over two inches of rain and only 75 is the high for the day, this is all from the tornado. My feeble plans for today were to sit on the patio and enjoy the wildlife passing by, now you may find me taking a nap with Prince.

Mary also had plans for today, she has been working so hard for the past  weeks, so she is planning to go to Pigeon Forge and take a little break and maybe a little shopping. I don't know if this weather will change her mind or not.

    We had a bad storm here last night, and it looks like more on the way. Too bad, because Jeff got our yard fenced in yesterday for the dogs. He installed over 100 yards of fencing. They were so happy to be able to run in all that space. Oreo is adapting to his new house very well, and I think he is going to love living here.

    On Friday, we saw some wild turkeys (HUGE ONES) walking through our yard. I tried to take a video, but as soon as Oreo saw them, he started barking, and the turkeys ran away.Oh well, I'm sure they will be back.

    Have a peaceful Labor Day. I'll be going back to work tomorrow. So, I guess I better enjoy this day as much as I can.

    Good Morning DAD...

    That is a lot of rain you are expecting today. Not good weather for sitting outdoors or going shoppin...great for sitting or working indoors and drinking coffee. Our Starbucks was out of Sumatra beans, they said it was due to all the storms last week and this week. So, I am enjoying my second favorite blend Komodo Dragon. It too is x-bold, just the way you and I like our coffee.

    I did visit your CAM #3 and all looks very wet, even the birds and squirrels are taking shelter elsewhere. One good thing about this weather, you can keep you legs elevated, sit with precious Prince, and read some of your poem books..then surprise us with a poem tomorrow morning...maybe even a video of you reading a poem to all of us. Have a peaceful day. ...Sara's Mom

    Dear Dad, Ms. Mary, and sweet Prince:

    Oh, Dad, the rain is a blessing as it is so good for the plants, and the birds and other wildlife love it, too. Sounds like a perfect day to stay inside and relax with your own little "ray of sunshine" and stroke his soft warm fur and listen to his purrs -- I'd trade places with you there! as I have the usual -- labor -- today ;) Hope your coffeepot is full and that Ms. Mary comes back from shopping with some good and interesting finds. Sending love to you all and wishes for a happy Labor Day! Jamaka and fams<3
