DADS WEDNESDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND NINTY SIX

Good Morning.

Wishing the best for you on this good Wednesday morning. I am starting these blogs just a little later every morning, at the moment it is 6: 10 A.M. and I do feel relaxed and content as I look out at the this new sheet that God has given me,
wonder what it will look like at my bedtime tonight, I do want to be careful so I will not be ashamed of it when the sun goeth down. .

Today.. June 8 2011 .... Mix of sun and clouds. A stray afternoon thunderstorm is possible. High 35C. Winds light and variable. A mix of clouds and sun. A stray afternoon thunderstorm is possible. High around 95F. Winds light and variable. . Sounds very good but I wish that they could change that stray thunder storm to sure instead of possible. It is so dry here at Dads Tomato garden, the roses and tomatoes are beginning to complain. Dad.

Vic Weals was a Journalist,a writer and columnist for the" KNOXVILLE JOURNAL" for forty years.
He wrote two columns over the years. "HOME FOLKS" and TENNESSEE TRAVELS".
He traveled many miles over mountain roads, interviewing the folks he admired so much
for his "TENNESSEE TRAVELS" column.

After retiring, he couldn't let it go which led to the publishing of two books.
"LAST TRAIN TO ELKMONT" and " LEGENDS OF CADES COVE".

We did get a lot done yesterday. We have all the tomatoes mulched and in cages, so now it is a waiting time for us, I sure am getting hungry for a tomato sandwich. I am just going to relax and try to enjoy each day of life and count it a gift from God.

Good Morning.

Today's weather report June 7th 2011.
Mix of sun and clouds. Near record high temperatures. High 34C. Winds light and variable.
Sunshine and clouds mixed. Near record high temperatures. High 94F. Winds light and variable.
That report makes me smile, with just a good shower today and I would feel a little better, it is fast becoming dry here at Dads Tomato Garden, but we have tried to give the tomatoes a little water about every other day.

It is now 4:40 A.M. Tuesday morning, I awoke at 2 A. M. and I could not go back to sleep, I said to myself it is to0 early to be writing a blog, what can I do with the time, and here was my thought why don't you just sit here sipping on a cup of your x bold coffee and think of all the blessings, all the good things that have come your way in the past years of your life, and try not to have one thought about a few times when I may have been discouraged, they were few anyway.

I know that these blessing began early in life. A good Dad and Mom who were so kind to me, they began taking me to Sunday morning meetings when I was a very young boy, I should always Thank them for that.
.
When I met LaVerne in 1935 at one of our church conventions and fell in love with her, and we were married Nov,29th 1935. Then I did realize that I had so very much to be thankful for. LaVerne was known for her kindness and love for every one, at her funeral one of her favorites songs " Live for others every day, Be a blessing while you may" was used. The years that we were together were the best of my life.

I could never forget what my two children have meant to me, most of you know them both Jim and Mary, it seems that I just grew up with them, we were together at work or play they were there. I have pulled them many miles on Douglas lake where they were expert water skiers, and the blessing of it all is that they are still with me, and since I an old man now they are now helping me to keep on going a little longer. Ain't I fortunate, I got the best bargain. DAD

I had better stop this, it would take more than one book to tell you everything, but it at least gives you a little of what went on in my young life. Now why don't you sit down and count your blessings, and I know that it will be as the song says, " You will be surprised what the Lord has done"

DADS MONDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND NINETY FOUR

" Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself "

Good Morning to all of you Monday morning lovers. That may sound silly to you, but to me it is so. I love to get back to my job after a nice helpful weekend and see what I can do today to better myself, and especially to help others. I would not want you to go in to your job at the office this morning with a frown on your face, so I am going to put a big smile there. That's my job. Dad.

This Sumatra x bold Starbucks coffee that I am sipping on as I write is so good, and I want to tell you that it is making me smile, if you have any ready why not try a cup, then see how you feel.

In looking over the three outside Cameras I noticed that the best view the # Dad's Outdoor Web Cam-1 . gives you a side view of the tomato garden looking south from my family room. You can see so much better from there, even count the number of rows and see how much they are growing. I know to you that looks like such a small thing, and it is, but old Dad did the best that he could and hope that if my life is spared for another year I will be able to show you something better. Over in my Side panel you can see a pictures of my crop in past years Dad's Tomato Garden Photo Album 2008 , now that is what I like. If you will notice the Eastern Blue Bird box in the view nearer the house, Well, from that we have seen at least four baby blue birds fly off into the cool of the trees beyond, and they seem to stay close to home, I see them at my feeders every day. I have three more boxes, some went out from them but I am not sure of the count, but I do have Eastern Bluebirds. Smile. DAD

And we are a little rushed this morning, we are going to Jim and Beverly's 50th wedding celebration, the whole family will be there. Their two children Kevin and Beth are doing this for them.

G00d Morning.

Friday morning has slipped in upon on us again. We are always glad to see it, because it tell us that two rest days are coming up. And as usual I am needing rest and a little time to Relax.

A young lady confidently walked around the room while leading and explaining stress management to an audience.

With a raised glass of water, and everyone knew she was going to ask the ultimate question, 'half empty or half full?'.....

She fooled them all... "How heavy is this glass of water?", she inquired with a smile. Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz. She replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." She continued, "and that's the way it is with stress. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on." "As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. DADS WEDNESDAYS ENTRY THREE THOUSAND NINETY

Good Morning.

Things went very good for Mary and I yesterday, it's that way every thing goes so sm0oth and then all at once everything stops. All that we can do is just face it with a smile. The good thing that happened to us was that we have our golf cart back in service. Now I will be able to do a little more around here. But do not worry I am not going to do very much, I have my learned lesson.
