Good morning, Dad!

I was a bit shocked when I saw the drop in your temps, too! I know you are smiling, LOL! I hope we get some of that up in Maryland! God Bless!

Looks like your weather is cooling a bit today. That is good news!

I know Misty will be smiling when we our heat wave finally breaks tomorrow.

Good Morning DAD...

I am smiling for you this morning...rain for the plants and cooler temps for you, how grand! Who would think we'd get excited by temps in the high 80s.

Yesterday surrounded by the green mountains, it felt cooler so we were actually able to do a bit of walking before going to the theater. It felt good to be outdoors after so much time in a/c.

Sara certainly brought home a nice bounty from her local farmer's market. Ours is open on Saturday and I am hoping for some early local tomatoes and cucumbers. My home grown basil is waiting for some good tomatoes. And on a hot day, I so enjoy thinly sliced cucumbers with thinly sliced onions marinated in seasoned rice vinegar. I should go reread that article you posted on the benefits of cucumbers now that they are plentiful.

Have a happy day. ...Sara's Mom

Dear Dad, Ms. Mary, and PRINCE!:

Sure am glad it's a little cooler over your way today, and hope you are getting the rain you want! Hope you, Ms. Mary, and cutie Prince are having a good evening. I'm thinking about tomatoes and a sandwich, and some iced coffee to go with it. ;) Love, Jamaka and fams

SUGGESTION TO DAD'S FRIENDS.
PERHAPS YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR OWN SWEET SPICED VINEGAR. SO GOOD WITH FRESH TOMATOS.

I START WITH APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, PRODUCED AT BENTONVILLE ARKANSAS.
I USE IT REGULARLY, SO MAKE A GOODLY AMOUNT.
IN A FOUR QUART COOKING POT, ONE QUART WATER.
BRING TO SLOW BOIL.
ADD ONE QUART APPLE CIDER VINEGAR.
(not apple cider flavord, use the real thing.)
KEEP THE SLOW BOIL,
ADD THREE PINTS CANE SUGAR.
WELL, YOU WANT IT SWEET DONT YOU ?)
PUT A GENEROUS TABLESPOON PICKLING SPICE IN A SOFT CLOTH AND MAKE INTO A BALL AND TIE SECURELY.
DROP PICKLING SPICE INTO THE SOFTLY BOILING CONCOCTION, ADD A SMALL AMOUNT OF SALT,
LET'S SEE,ANYTHING FORGOTTEN ?
USE A WOODEN SPOON TO PRESS AND STIR THE SPICE BAG AND ENJOY THE TANTALIZING AROMA AND ANSWER THE DOOR TO INQUISITIVE NEIGHBORS.
AFTER FIFTEEN MINUTES OR SO IT IS READY TO MOVE TO A COOL BURNER TO COOL OFF
I PUT MINE IN A LARGE PICHER IN THE FRIDGE AND POUR OUT A PINT AT A TIME FOR TABLE USE.
TRY SOME ON YOUR NEXT FRESH RED RIPE DICED TOMATO. GOOD FOR MAKING CUCUMBER SWEET PICKLES. TRY IT ON FOODS YOU LIKE. sam
